Super quick armour stacking question

Do armour and natural armour bonuses stack? Could I have a chain shirt and an amulet of natural armour working together, or would only the highest count?

Yes, they stack -- one's an armour bonus the other's a natural armour bonus.

Sort of. The amulet is an enhancement bonus to natural armor. Your base is 0 of course. Enhancement bonuses to natural armor won't stack with eachother, but will with enhancement bonuses to armor(which don't stack with eachother. Take the highest of both.) Certain PCs may have natural armor from their race(Tiefling) or a class feature(Beast Totem).

The best way is to stack low level bonuses of as many types as possible.

Amulets of natural armor are the most common way, but there are so many excellent amulet-type items that you could wear instead that it's best, if at all possible, to find another method. (A wand of barkskin is a temporary solution but a good one, and quite a bit cheaper provided you have a druid or somebody with enough Use Magic Device skill to keep you barked up.) I'm not dissing the amulet of natural armor - it's a lifesaver - just saying that in the long run you might want to find an alternative.
