Ok so based upon everything I read about the Inquisitor from the fantastic guide done by Brodhi. The consenus sounds like that the Devastator Inquisitor. And that the dwarf would be the best fit for this as well. Or am I wrong in this and that the archer Inquisitor is better?
Now is this correct in that this class will do extremely well in a pirate campaign? If melee, what weapon do you recommend using? If ranged, what do you recommend?
Also, domains I noticed there were several that were top choices highlighted by Brodhi. Feather, Rage, Travel, Dragon, & Trade were the top of the line options. Which of these or if there are others that may be better for a pirate campaign? Any feedback would be Awesome! Thanks!
My thinking is this; Feather for the skill buff & animal companion. Travel for the speed bump since I will be a dwarf. Rage for the bump in str for melee combat. Dragon just simply for a breath weapon.
What do you guys think?

Angmar ain't no pirate but he's a Dwarven Inquisitor wit a great axe.
Overall I think inquisitors prolly don't make the best pirates however, they kind of rely on medium armor and I wouldn't wanna wear that while on a boat.
In a pirate campaign the feather domain is prolly rather nice as both the perception bonus and the animal companion should be rather handy. Tactics domain is also quite nice.

I'll agree that an inquisitor of Besmara would be thematically appropriate for a pirate campaign but you might want to go with Cayden Cailean instead. Same swashbuckling attitude but with domains that might be better for a guy wearing a medium armor on a boat (like that +10 move from travel you mentioned).
If you want to stick with Besmara, I'd go with the war domain for the bonus damage.
The dorn dergar and dwarven waraxe are probably your best choice for weapons

If you wanna do a Devastator Inquisitor
Dwarven Inquisitors of either
Angradd with Tactics subdomain (Greataxe Prof and swift action combat feats at 8. The 1st level power lets you make your wizard role 2x for initiative wwhich is awesome.)
Or Ragathiel. (Bastard sword and RAGE subdomain or Anger inquisition)
Or take the HERASEY inquisition and be a INTIMIDATE legend! And Party face. Dump CHA to the floor and use wisdom for social skills and roll 2x and take the better result.
Gets Crazy good with Cornugan Smash and a CRUEL weapon.
And the spell Instrument of Agony.

Would this be a better route to go?
So I want to play a dwarven inquisitor. The rules are it's a 15 point buy for character creation. No traits allowed. PF books only.
I was thinking that I could start as a Devastator Inquisitor per Bodhi's guidebook. And later buying a bow & enhancing the bow to be guided. So in the beginning I would take feats that would tailor towards a melee character & then later I would retrain the feats.
What do you guys think? Would this be the right way to go? And yes I did think about playing an Oread as well, however, I like the bonuses to saves vs spells over the str bonus & resistances.
I am also taking the Heresy Inquisition to offset the cha stat dump & gain bonuses to my social skills since they might be handy in a pirate campaign setting.
Here is what I have so far for a potential 15 point buy
Ability
STR 14
DEX 13
CON 14
INT 12
WIS 17
CHA 5
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Herasy Inquisitor is good and basically removes CHA from the equation as a needed stat.
You seem to favor being resistant to magic so consider WITCHUNTER archetype.
Unless your DM allows retraining as a house rule (In which case your choices don't matter since you can swap them).
The 5 CHA is a concern for ability damage I would DEFINITELY learn lesser restoration and get a wand asap.
I would go
Str 16
Dex 12
Con 14
Int 10
Wis 16
Cha 5
Because the Heaviest armor you will ever wear is mithral Breast plate+ Armored kilt (+7 bonus med armor).
A belt of STR/Dex will get you all the dex you need for AC.
A 16 is plenty for a 3/4 caster and a nicer str score.
You get 6 skills a level so Prioritise Intimidate, Diplomacy, Sense Motive.
Cause of the pirate theme- definitely put ranks in swim.
You are not getting a domain but you still get a weapon prof from deity.
I like Ragathiel for bastard sword.
Let's you freely switch between 2handed amd 1hand+buckler.
