Converting a 3.5 necromancer variant to pathfinder

Rules Questions

I'm trying to convert the necromancer variant here : http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/classes/specialistWizardVariants.htm#necr %20omancerVariants to pathfinder.

Pretty much everything works fine, but i'm a bit confused about the skeleton minion proficiencies. How would that work? From what i understand, in PF, a skeleton only has proficiencies for whatever equipment it had when it died, is this correct?

By RAW, you don't need any remains to make a skeleton minion with the necromancer variant above, so how would proficiencies fit in?

Would it be reasonable to assume the skeleton minion has the same proficiencies as a warrior?

bump.

I think this thread should be in the Homebrew section, but to answer your question, you create a standard skeleton. How does your DM handle skeletons using armor and weapons? I've always handled it as they can use simple and martial weapons, and can wear all types of armor. It's just easier that way. The alternative is putting armor and weapons on a skeleton, then raising it.

Ah right. Well first of all, what is the pathfinder rules for skeleton proficiencies?

If you read the creating a skeleton information, it says they are proficient with what they knew in life.

Hmm, it seems to only mention weapon proficiencies though?

I think adding armor proficiencies to that would be very reasonable.

Fun with semantics: Your skeleton has non-standard stats, so you would need to write up a statblock. An "entry" for your minion. Can you see where this is going?

Uh...not really?

Undead creatures are proficient with anything mentioned in their entry. As you write down "Double Hackbutt", the skeleton aquires proficiency.
