Halfling Rogue w / archetype " Knife Master "

Rules Questions

Dark Archive

Ok, I seem to have raised a number of issues while covering a PC while the player was out for medical reasons.

1st,A halfling rogue-Knife master, according to the Player the class implies Proficiency with Kukris and other knife like weapons? or is there an Errata somewhere?

I believe the player is wrong. he is only proficient with simple and Racial weapons only, Right? Kukris being Mod. weapon?

2nd, Is there a Pathfinder feat or trait called " Something-(Bare, I think the word is?) in the city" : increases dex bonus by 50% or +2 to reflex and AC while unarmored and in a Known Civilised/ Populated area?

As far as I understand it, Knife Master does not provide proficiency with kukris. They would have to dip into a class which can use kukris, take the Martial Weapon Proficiency feat, or gain proficiency through a trait - Heirloom Weapon is the only one I know.

As to your other question, it doesn't ring a bell, sorry.

The Knife Master archetype doesn't give any additional weapon proficiencies, so he won't be proficient with kukris unless he takes a feat.

As for your other question... I've never heard of anything like that, for what it's worth.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Perhaps this is it?

Improved Unarmored Specialist

It's a 3rd party feat that doubles your dex bonus to AC if you're not wearing armor and the prerequisite feat adds +2 dodge to your AC if not wearing armor. If your DM doesn't allow 3rd party feats (which I recommend should always be banned) then both would be outright banned.

He had 3 feats at 1st lvl. He should only have 1.

The first, was approved 3rd party feat that does that.Doubles dex ac bonuses.

then he had this "****e in the city" feet.

then the third was a specific feat to the game.

** The GM allows 3rd party, but he has to see it in a book and have access to the description.

Perhaps he had 1 feat and 2 traits? Even then, the 3rd party feat I listed above required a prerequisite feat before taking. I'd suggest asking the player to show you on the website what the feats are.

Quick search of the PFSRD for the phrase "in the city" does not yield any relevant hits under the feats, 3rd-party feats, or traits sections (not sure about 3rd-party traits; there is no category for those).

One of his traits should e River Rat. When you point out all the errors with his character give him this tip to be a good guy!

he had his traits... what i think happened, Was he was building 2 characters at the same time. he had a human fighter he built. it had mistakes too. That I think would have saved the character if they were correct.
he's new to pathfinder and D&D- His experaince is in larping, Fate and WOD. No body checked his sheet.

If you're new to a game always have someone else check your sheet. Unless you plan on "oops, really, I'm not allowed to do THAT?" moments, but then I'd consider it cheating already.
Same as a GM I'd always double check character sheets, just to make sure to know what they can do, and especially from new players.

That feat/trait seems completely weird. If in doubt have him send you the link to it or show you the book, etc.

Hero Lab does a good job of keeping you on the straight and narrow as well, although I disagree with its interpretation sometimes of how things interact.

I use Hero Labs!! I love it.
It just Drives me Freaking Nuts, When you find mistakes by the dozens and stuff that isn't solid.

What happens is one guy brings tons of odd stuff(3rd party official stuff and unofficial crap)(to play show and tell at the table) and in this case. The kid didn't mark down what book it's in or get a copy of the published feat.
