Which 3PP should team up and make what???

Since we at LPJ Desing have teamed up the folks over at Dreamscarred Press on all of our Psionic related projects, I was wondering what other 3PP of Pathfinder would fans like to see team up with and make product(s)? No generic general answers here, only really cool stuff: What cool things do you think two or more 3PP could put together?

I would like to see Fire Mountain Games, Little Red Goblin Games, TPK games, and Frog God Games team up to make an Evil adventure path that actually advances beyond 20th level. FMG writes the story, TPK and LRG add class feat support and expanding Legendary Levels to cover other 3PP classes. FGG obviously handles the monsters and works with FRG on the encounters and adventure layout.

Maybe LPJ could do an Undefeatable with TPK to expand their Malefactor options.

Dreamscarred Press teaming up with Fire Mountain Games for an adventure path would be awesome. Especially if it was a prequel that they set to end in the Cataclysm in Dreamscarred Press's Third Dawn.

Publisher, Dreamscarred Press

... a prequel in Third Dawn before the comet struck... That would definitely be interesting to do, although it raises a ton of questions that were intentionally left vague in the campaign setting. :)

I call that a great opportunity to work together with people on some cool ideas. :)

Shadow Lodge

A TPK Games and Frog God Games adventure would be very, very perilous. Maybe too perilous...

Hmmm... Id also like to see what TPK Games would do with Obsidian Apocalypse. I also think that an AaW/LPJr Design team-up would be interesting regarding aesthetics - LPJr Design's artwork + AaW's maps = Beauty.

TPK/FGG would be an awesome team-up! Generally, I'm all for team-ups and taking a look at what came of the ones I know, I can say that they tend to result in cool stuff!

You know what I'd also love to see? An NPC Codex full of statblocks using 3rd party classes - you know, with dreads, swordmasters, mediums, malefactors, cryptics, machinesmiths, occultists, tinkers, time thieves/wardens, witch hunters, etc. - and archetypes galore! I know this probably won't happen, but I'd consider such a book immensely useful!

Dreamscarred, Radiance House, and maybe E.N. should team to produce a setting in which psionics and pact magic have a major role. ^.^

I'd like to see Frog God Games, Super Genius Games, and Jon Brazer Enterprises do a living city type of adventure. FGG has their chops with Rappan Athuk and Razor Coast, SGG can provide class and spell support, and JBE can do all the monsters and stuff for it. I think that'd be my dream team right there.

Or, LPJ and Dreamscarred together to do a Dreamlands-inpsired campaign. LPJ is pretty good at making radically different yet inspired settings, and I feel DSP's psionics would fit extremely well with the setting.

Dario and I actually love Psionics; his original 3.5 book, Secrets of Pact Magic actually has a very small amount of Psionics support.

We discussed updating those rules in Pact Magic Unbound, Vol. 1 but it was ultimately cut because A) that book is already CRAMMED full of content and B) we didn't want our first product in our first Pathfinder line to, "Lean on the shoulders of giants," so to speak. That's also why I ended up cutting the Time Thief support that was going to be in that book.

Dario and I aren't opposed to the idea of a Super Awesome Crossover Product(TM) however.

I actually second the idea of an NPC codex with 3pp Classes. Pact magic, In the Company Classes, the SGG classes. I think it'd be awesome.

Its certainly a cool idea, but not very likely for all of us publishers to actually get together and work together on such a project. For one, trying to divvy up profits for such a book would be an absolute NIGHTMARE to pull off, so if it were made, it would probably be a free digital product; we would need some kind of profit in order to afford print runs.

Even if we did make it a free product, building stat blocks is tedious work, and I don't know how many publishers would be willing to just up and create that much product for free. I mean, I'm positively insane and probably would do it, but some of the people involved actually rely on the publishing gig for income. Might not be the best use of their time, but I also don't want to put words into other people's mouths, so who's to say? The world is a weird place.

I'd like to see several of us take a particular topic and spin 4 different pdfs off the subject matter. The pds wouldn't necessarily have to come out at the same time (within a month or so, maybe), but we would reinforce each other's products. I know the SGG, Rite, and LPJ folks, so those would be the ones I'd like to work with on doing so. Remember the days of GR/Paradigm Interlink? Something like that.

I may, in fact, have a topic for us--which would lead into future topics--and Mike Welham is working on the pdf for me.

Btw, for those who don't know, I'm part of Misfit Studios (I've asked that be added to my title here, but it hasn't happened yet), and I'll be ramping up our Pathfinder presence with a Christina Stiles Presents line of things. Misfit Studios has been around a good while as a 3.5, M&M, and Savage Worlds company, but we want to join the Pathfinder sandbox, too. My Pathfinder work has mainly been for Kobold Press and Paizo, though I've got things lined up with Frog God, Green Ronin, and LPJ.

Hopefully, you'll start seeing my name more often as a 3PP publisher.

Radiance House + Dreamscarred Press - No regular magic, only psionics + Pact Magic would be an awesome concept for a setting. However, I'd first love to see MORE Pact Magic - say 2 -3 books? Now? *looks around* Damn, why doesn't my Reality Revision-power work? ;)

And I think Christina is on to something - personally, I loved the interlink-system and I think two publisher-crossovers that tie to together might work very well...

I don't begin to grasp the breadth of PF 3pp stuff.

However, high-level play that picks up the aftermath/expansions in the APs would be wonderful to see. Filling in the blanks from the raw material Daigle does at the back end of each Chapter 6. Some of us are lazy buggers, so it would be nice to see support for wrapping up all those annoying loose ends.

I disagree. It would be quite easy to do, just split the work evenly between two companies like Green Ronin and Paradigm Concepts did with Inter link. See the original press release and concept here.

So if Dreamscarred press and LPJ Design did something it would be a two part adventure where DS takes one part and we take the other. We hire the same writer to write both parts and split those cost, editing and art budget down the middle. Each person sells their adventure and they both promote them as a two parter. Each of us make our money based on what we sold and nothing needs to be "split between companies". All printing could be handled on POD so there is no upfront cost. When you sell you make money.

Doesn't need to be free. You can sell it based on the comments I just made. We have a few writers who actually LIKE doing stat blocks so you find the right people everything can be handled. Just think outside the box and it is an easy project where everyone can get paid.

Just so we're clear, I don't mind stat blocks, but after doing Usual Suspects I'm pretty sure 57 in a row is my limit.

Mmmmm... stat blocks.... nnngggrrrllllll

Jeff is just say that because he doesn't realize that I have a project coming with 100+ stat block coming. Just pace yourself and drink water to prevent cramps. :-)

Layout and Design, Frog God Games

You should try being Skeeter Green sometime. He's drowning in stat blocks!

Poor, Skeeter! But tell him to keep it up.

That actually sounds like a lot of fun.

@All of the 3pp here: I've mentioned a sort of blanket/umbrella concept in the 3pp FB group. The idea basically would be sort of like the old Marvel comics deal "what if?" or "Marvel Comics Presents: <insert cool 1-time collaboration idea here>"

Just a thought to add one unifying "umbrella" brand to them is the theory.

Dotting for great interest. No suggestions but I like the way this thread is going =)

I would like to see a collaboration to make either a bestiary or adventure path featuring one of the 'less-used' outsider races, particularly Psychopomps, Archons, Angels, or Inevitables! A bit odd of a topic, but given the credentials of everyone here, I'd say it would be a huge success, because everyone loves outsiders, even those who have been TPK'd by them. Maybe a gazetteer on the First World? Just throwing some random ideas out that sound cool. I also second the ideas previously listed, in particular the 3PP NPC Codex.

Dark Archive

there's a 3pp FB group? where?

The Exchange

@ulgulanoth: It's an invite-only group mostly geared towards conversations regarding advertising and other d20pfsrd.com/3pp-related subjects. If you (or anyone else) is involved in such a commercial entity just Friend-request John Reyst on FB and I'll try to add you to the group.

Id like to see all the 3pp team up with Super Genius Games to add support to the Warkords of the Apocalypse game coming out. Its down the road but food for thought.
