How to combine Channel Positive Energy and utility?

Advice

Hi,

I am thinking of making a build that can take two (or more) roles in the party.

One is as the one providing Channel Positive Energy. The other could be rogue, bard, or monk-like mobility, or somehting else.

I will get access to the Phylactery of Positive Channeling.

Are there other items that can enhance Channeling positivy energy?

I am looking for advice that will allow a multiclassing/archetyping/Prestige-classing to fulfill one of the rules mentioned above other than channeling.

Spells are ok, but secondary to the concept.

Ideas are very welcome. :-)

Also, if I take levels in say for example Paladin and Cleric, do they stack for counting the number of D6 that I heal with a Channel?

I'd recommend playing a Life Oracle. One of their revelations is the Channel Energy ability (and if you're an Aasimar, you can use your favored class bonus to pump it up even more), and they get more skill points than a cleric or paladin. You could even take the Seeker archetype to gain trapfinding like a rogue, if you want that skill set.

Just to be clear: You want to channel positive energy for healing and maybe the occasional undead blast. But what exactly should your second role look like? You mention monk, rogue or bard and none of them work good with the channeling classes.

Things I can think of right now:
- A life oracle. Great for channeling and versatile thanks to 4 skill points per level and divine spell casting. Go human for additional versatility (extra skill point and more spells known).
- A life oracle/Barbarian/Rage Prophet. Same as above with more class skills, better combat abilities and less channeling and casting. Also improved movement thanks to barbarian speed bonus.
- A paladin. Channeling, great tank and damage dealer.
- A cleric. Travel domain for enhanced mobility. Still one of the best calsses in game. Suffers a bit from MAD, especially if you want to do much channeling.
- A cleric/holy vindicator. Somewhere between the paladin and the cleric. Full channel progression, very decent combat and spell casting abilities.

I'd suggest looking through the cleric archetypes and domains to see if you can spot any abilities that would satisfy your need to fulfil another role. (Other than divine spellcasting, which is a pretty valuable contribution.)
You could dip into rogue for just long enough to learn to deal with traps, but in general multi-classing and channelling don't mix well.

Seeker Life Oracle.

Now, you heal better than the Cleric, and Disable Traps better than the Rogue.

Plus, spells.

And if you go Aasimar and use their Oracle favored class ability on your channel revelation, you will channel as a cleric 1.5 times your Oracle level. At 20th level, you would channel as a 30th level cleric...
