War Rhino for an Animal Companion in PFS...

I looked through the additional resources for Orcs of Golarion and did not find anything saying I could not take the War Rhinoceros as my animal companion.
In the book the last line states, "An orc can take a war rhinoeceros as an animal companion."
I was curious if it was legal in PFS.

The additional resources for Orcs of Golarion reads:

"Feats: all feats on pages 24–25 except Destroyer's Blessing and Fire God's Blessing; Spells: all spells on pages 28–29 except enemy's heart and shield the banner; Traits: all traits on pages 22–23 except Blessing of the Feast, Demented Inventor, and Tribal; Other: orc sorcerer bloodline on page 14"

That is what tells you whether you can take war rhino. Does your quoted statement fall into those pages of what's allowed? Then yes. If not, then no.

The section you have quoted is for orcs. Orcs are usually not available for play in PFS. What rules source are you using to allow you to play an orc and thus be eligible for the war rhino in the first place?

I doubt Howie is trying to be rude. Its just that we see another one of these threads pop up everyday about what is or isn't legal. Not that this a bad thing, it just gets on some nerves. I'd rather have people ask to be sure than show up and get yelled at.

Bonus points for looking before posting as well.

Generally, anything involving orcs is not legal for play. We'd have to check the resources to be sure. Even something as simple as the battle mask from ARG is not allowed.

On the other hand, there's no excuse for not looking things up in the Additional Resources instead of asking.

Cool so y'all want to be something that is mentioned not to be right under the reply to post button. Looks like staff needs to be involved. I mean a 1 star gm, really? Don't bash newish players you just make yourself look bad for your entire lodge. On a sidenote I read the additional resources. It came up as a blank on any info regarding the quarry I was searching for and there were no other forums about a war rhinoceros.

So yea as a "noob" of course I'd like to ask if the animal companion was allowed for flavor of character concept since I have the other 2 references needed for it.

Dawn, I think you got your answer. Sadly no War Rhino is available, but a regular rhino is. Level-7 advancement he would be Large, which is like a war rhino.

I hope that fits the concept.

Dawn, sorry, but I never bashed you in this thread, period. I didn't intend it as rude, I don't read it now as rude, and don't see that I have anything to apologize for. I'll let my posting record over the last couple of years, including my text in this thread, stand on its own merits.

You found it a bit rude. That's on you, not on me. You feel that staff needs to be involved, hit the flag button and select whatever describes how you think my post transgresses the forums' guidelines for behavior.
