Jury Rig Spell and Misfiring

The Jury Rig Spell removes the penalties of item being broken and cause to be treated as if it wasn't broken. So assume you misfire with a gun and then use a wand to cast this spell (assuming level 6 4,500 gp) on the item, obviously the gun no longer has the broken penalty. The Misfire rules state that guns explode when misfiring when broken but as the gun is under the effect of this spell it doesn't count as broken so would it explode ?

Could this spell be used to ignore the misfire mechanic for the duration ?

After reading the spell I would say yes...but you could also just use quick clear to remove the condition for good until another misfire. Especially if you get to 11th and choose something like Signature need where you can Quick Clear for free
