Healing Hexes or Positive Channel Energy?

Homebrew and House Rules

Grand Lodge

Now I have not seen anything (topic) on this specifically. I may have missed it, if so please point me towards it.

A gentleman at a LGS brought up he would like a class that would have healing abilities but not be a cleric or witch or druid.
He thought it would be cool to have like a priest sort or temple follower.

And one of the base abilities would be Positive Channel Energy or Healing Hexes (progression at the appropriate levels, and renamed of course).
So we started talking and put together a home brew class for a homebrew game and we really can’t decide what would be best out of the two.

So we are going to the boards to survey than just the small group of us.

So for the concept of a temple follower, but no real ranks in a temple (maybe liason), what would make more sense, hex or channel?
Pros and cons?

Well the healing hex has a rather strong flavor that probably isnt appropriate for this class. It is after all a hex. It is power that comes from a compact with some powerful being. Probably not the sort of thing to come from a priest. I'd say channel is more appropriate.

A Healing focused Alchemist is a great option.
They have elixirs of healing, self regeneration, the ability to trasfer their regeneration to others. The ability to craft healing potions and oils beyond the ones they get daily for free.
They can absorb poison and disease from themselves or someone and transfer it to another target with a touch.
They can later create poitions of ressurection out of 25,000gp worth of dirt in less than an hour, and can even use them on themselves to apply temporary auto-ressurection.
They have all manner of buffs they can apply.
Their bombs aren't half bad for affliction/support if you rig them right.
Having a Flying Tumor Familiar that can transfer your touch heal powers over distances by air.

And its a breath of fresh air if he doesn't want to follow the mental dogma of the Cleric, Druid, Witch, since Alchemists are morally free.

Not to mention if crap hits the fan, you can pop a mutagen and hurl a chair for 90d%+1...

The bard class has access to healing spells but not to channeling or hexes, which puts it about on a par with the druid.

The oracle class is technically not a cleric, druid, or witch and can gain positive energy channeling via the Life mystery.

The Multiclass Archetypes wiki has a witch/oracle combination called the fellseer (not officially completed). Select the Life mystery with that archetype and you have a character who has access to both channeling and hexes.

List of options:

-Songhealer Bard archetype
-Hedge Witch archetype (refluffed to remove the pact aspect)
-Extract-focused alchemist
-Life Oracle (whose powers do not typically come from a specific deity and can coem form an unknown source)

Hositaler Paladins do some pretty good healing since they get Lay on Hands and Channel as separate abilities.
