What's the most fun halfling character your ever seen / played and why ?

Gamer Life General Discussion

Mine was a recurring character in 3.5 names Beau Tosscobble. He was a rogue. Long story short the party found a deck of many things. I drew the one where your body and soul are separated. The party fighter then drew "enmity with an outsider" and "your friend betrays you."

They turned and the halfling body was gone. A short while later the halfling returned as a half demon to murder the fighter with extreme prejudice.

The fighter player was fine with it and for a boon for his next character.

My tiny smarmy half demon was a lot of fun to play.

Without a doubt, my wife's Order of the Dragon Cavalier in our RotRL home game.

...oddly, also a Tosscobble, in this case Poppy Tosscobble.

I'll leave it to Lamontia to describe at some point whenever she gets around to it, but Poppy and her loyal dog steed are by far the highlight of our PC group for that campaign.

Sovereign Court

We had a whole party of Halflings that went through a couple of games in Living Greyhawk that was actually quite a lot of fun. One or two mods were just utterly nerfed by our halflinness while another was a horrific journey of pain and death.

Most Memorable Halfling I can think of, is a friend of mine's character. The halfling was a cohort to the main character, and took levels in a class from a dragon magazine that was a martial artist ( sorry can't remember the name of the class ) that allowed him to foot sweep anyone within 5 or 10 ft. Character's name was Stoolfoot, and would run around footsweeping everything, was too funny

Silver Crusade

I played a halfling sorcerer/rogue/arcane trickster named Milo Berrythwaite in the Shackled City AP. Milo grew up on the mean streets of Cauldron, and as a halfling needed to project strength in order to survive. He gave himself the nickname of The Fox, and befriended a fellow orphan half-orc named Iron-Brow.

The Fox was a little bit crazy (CN to CG), and had a Napolean complex. He found a gnomish comedy mask that looked like the face of a fox during his first adventure, which he subsequently wore whenever he was out in public.

The people of Cauldron praised him and his traveling companions (who he viewed as his followers) as heroes. It was quite common to see the children of Cauldron wearing paper fox masks in those days.

While on one of their higher level adventures, The Fox saved his party from a dracolich whose hoard included a crown, orb, and scepter. The Fox claimed these items while his party was still paralyzed by the dracolich, and declared himself Emporer Milo Berrythwaite the First of His Name.

Ultimately, Milo ascended to become a demigod, ruler of Occipitus after sacrificing his familiar to the Test of the Smoking Eye.

Liberty's Edge

My friend runs an NPC halfling cleric. Not being able to find a deity he liked suitable to a halfling he created Plog, Deity of Mediocrity. All his spells, feats, and abilities were aimed at making the party better.

+4 when he aided another. Rerolls on various ability scores. Always opened with the line "Plog can't do it, but you sure can!", "Plogs only kind of ok, but you're great!", etc. etc.

Hilarious.

Sovereign Court

Ive played quite a few now that I think about it. Oddly I am on my second halfling barbarian right now in Serpent Skull. He might not count though cause he is MC with rogue and prestige classed. Ill tell y'all about him though.

possible SS spoilerage:
So Cort Underhill lived with his family a group of nomad trappers and odd job doers. One day his clan was attacked by slavers and Cort was taken away from his family. He spent several years in a slave camp. They would have him bring water to the other workers or whatever odd job his size would allow.

Cort befriended a couple of Shoanti slaves. One night the opportunity presented itself to escape. Not knowing what happened to his family he deiced to stay with the Shoanti once they were free. Cort spent several years with the tribe. One day he and a few of his friends went to town to trade supplies. They got drunk and started some fights. The local authorities began to chase them. Cort hid in a nearby crate. He passed out from being drunk while waiting for the coast to clear. He woke up on a ship not really knowing where he was going.

Cort then made some new friends after being shipwrecked on some island. While it was hell for everyone else his skills as a hunter gather made thigns easier for him. He really enjoyed searching for treasure in lost ships. After discovering some crazy stuff and making a friend of a gnome Pathfinder Cort decided he wanted to become an artifact recoverer...

Cort is 2 Barbarian/ 4 rogue/ 2 Pathfinder Delver. He is fun because he is a twist on the typical halfling rogue.

I dont know if it counts but in DDO I had a halfling Paladin named Betsy Ross. lil asskicker.

My first character was Pan a halfling Bard. I modeled him after the scene in Kings quest 4. That was long ago don't remember too much about that character.

Silver Crusade

In junior high I played a halfling cleric named Friar Templeton. He rode a fairly large goat as a mount. He wasn't really all that useful but he was fun to play.

This one. Halfling witch with a Russian accent, extreme love of vodka and penchant for brewing her liquor and her potions in the same cauldron. Also the brains and "leader" of her party, which included two humans - a monk and a gunslinger. Former runaway apprentice of a hag, utterly terrified of hags and changelings, who later discovered she had a little changeling half-sister who had tracked her down to "take her home". Campaign sadly ended before she could get to explaining to the little one why "Mother Makushka" was not a good person or why she was so terrified of her....

My 3.5 eberron ranger/halfling outrider. Why? Because i had a frickin Deinonychus mount!

There's this one (check the profile), from a pbp that's still on-going (though without me- I had to drop several years ago). Awesome game and game- master.

Towards the end of 2nd Ed., I had a character named Bili Proudfoot.
He was a fighter/thief, built with kits to approximate a ranger.

His story ran that he was the last survivor of a family of traveling bards/merchants/tinkers who were murdered by brigands.
He escaped and eventually poisoned the thiefs' stew.

He joined an existing group as a depressed, shaven-headed killer.
They became his new family, cheering him up, though he kept the shaved head (and feet) to remember his family.

I don't remember if he was any use in combat, but he never met a magic item he didn't like.
His favorites were the amulet that let you talk to horses, troll coins (instant troll, just add water) (uncontrolled of course), and a magic dagger that turned anything you killed into a giant frog, under your control.
One custom saddle later, he had a mount.
He went through several frogs, having to leave some in dungeons they couldn't get out of and he still feels a little guilty about the frogs he sold to the followers of Wastri the Hopping Prophet (god of human supremacy and amphibians), but he needed the money to buy the theatre he lived in (while training between adventures) in Grayhawk.

Scarab Sages

The most fun I've ever had with a halfling was a monk 2/cleric x with greater two-weapon fighting and a pair of vorpal kamas.

Buckus for damage until she rolled a 20, but damned near impossible to kill.
