Rules Questions

i came across a build suggesting vicious slam in conjunction with combat reflexes and a quaterstaff. question is, can you use an unarmed strike while weilding a quaterstaff?

Do you mean vicious stomp? You can while holding but while wielding the quarter staff. Wielding the quarterstaff takes two hands. Need a free hand to punch someone after all.

I don't know how vicious stomp works and it sounds like you'd just be stepping on them, but mechanically I don't think it works. I'm sure someone else can correct me if I'm wrong.

yes, vicious stomp was what i meant

you trip everyone with twirling trip and then with combat reflexes and vicious stomp you take a free attack of oppurtunity with improved unarmed strike on everyone who fell prone

Unarmed Strike was recently FAQed as to be your "whole body". So you can make an Unarmed Strike at any time, even if both hands are in use. It's now confirmed to be "limb-agnostic".

Shadow Lodge

I don't see why not. After all, you can take an unarmed attack with any part of your body. Kick them, knee them... heck, headbutt them if that's your preference.

You never need a free hand to use Unarmed Strikes, so you can unquestionably do this.
