simce when are chaotic beings automatically dumb and lawful ones automatically smart??
Lawful neutral is very capable of stubborn foolishness.
Chaotics are by nature more adaptable.
Alignment has a lot more to do with point of view than intelligence.
if a marilith had an alignment of cn would they detect as that or does the alignment subtype take precedence
you need one witch to maintain the slumber hex while a second witch does the scar/symbol of pain
at what level does a witch with the flight hex weigh the same as a duck?
can temporary negative levels become permanant if you fail your save?
do you get to just save forever until they go away? party member took a bite from a vampire. we killed it so as far as i can tell the member wont turn, but negative levels do not appear to be explained well on the srd
also, way better if you folow the very original for tje conversion. way more fun when the sorcerer kings were all in power and the dragon of tyr still rampaged across the waste. no real dragons thoug, just 21st lvl+ defilers under going transformation

dark sun is a very different world than other settings. take the defiler and preserver mage classes for example. or the fact that all clerics worship the elemental planes becuse the gods have abanded the world ij frustration. if you read the history, it was a water world ruled by halflings, until the halflings messed the whole planet up and made it earth like instead of a water world. then the sorcerer kings were created, causing the sun to change a second time, and bam, deser world. i think the flavour of athas is lost if you use the pathfinder classes. you need defilers runnimg around sucking the life out of plants and turning them to dust to power their spells. you nned the massive slave pits, and you need the mul (Half human half dwarf) gladiators raised from birth to figt for the pleasure of the sorcerer king. Also, who could forget the templar guards massive corruption, and the fact they actually recieve clerical spells dfrom their sorcere kings. definitely dont forget the fact that everything and its dog is psionic. youll apreciate the world much more if you keep the flavour. also, thri kreen druid/preserver/psionicist for the win.I miss second ed multi classing
grab a copy of the game mastey guide and bestiary if you dont have them and then just put a campaign together and find players.
can the exotic mounts provided in the leadership feat be used as animal companions, and if so, do they still level up?
you trip everyone with twirling trip and then with combat reflexes and vicious stomp you take a free attack of oppurtunity with improved unarmed strike on everyone who fell prone
yes, vicious stomp was what i meant
i came across a build suggesting vicious slam in conjunction with combat reflexes and a quaterstaff. question is, can you use an unarmed strike while weilding a quaterstaff?
i see no reason why an AC wouldnt attack im the surprise round assumining its a predator. what would a wild cheetah or wolf do if attacked? the AC is smarter
when you get bit by a mosquito you catach malaria
just thinking of inadvertant consequences to spell casting for flavor. i'd been thinking of the part in the wheel of time where the aes sedai cause a bunch of damage changing currents and winds to move their boat faster and its got me on a bit of a tangeant. thank you for the input.
judging by your dex you shoud stick it out till lvl 11 so you can be unencumbered in heavy armor
my main issue was with whether he needed to be abe to concentrate to extend the new potion.
i know the rules state no eefect in deep water, however, we know earthquakes cause tsunamis. so heres the question. do you rhink the spel could cause a tsunmi and if so how big and how long would it take to foem?
is it possivle for the alchemist to dispel the rage or would they be stuck in rage for the rest of their life?
rogue/mage of the viel for 3 lvls
arcane trickster/ fighter for 3 lvls
arcane trickster/arcame archer for 7 lvls
mage of the viel/arcane archer for 3 lvls
mage of the viel/rogue for 4 lvls
too lazy to see if it works atm
if i pay the 25000 gp cost, can i wish to be a god?
it can become any type of seige weapon you want
any suggestions on making them easier to transport?
if i have a group of 3 1st lvl charactes their apl is 0, therefore i need cr 0 encounters. any suggestions?
arcane bond is really no problem at all for worn items
the crb lists it as the hooker meaning
the bonded item is (sp) and the familiar is (ex), correct?
make your bonded item a ring and wear it. the bond power does not increase the cost of further enchanting the item, nor is there a concentration check required whenits on your finger
cool, thanks. when i saw it just said six i wasnt sure how many above that it would be before it was unbalancing
curently a player in a game with 8. what would the apl mod ne for that part? also, as a side note, how do you add cr together? i cant imagine a group of 6 level 2 npcs being a cr 12 so i have to be doing something wrong
i like that one and see no problems with it.
i would require it in my campaign but i just dont know. clerics dont need to worship anyone so i supose a paladin could go as far as bein atheist. if the paldin is still actin like a paladin it doesnt change anything mechanically so if you need/want it for flavor go for it
moronic post. i should not have had to post this. i misinterpreted lethal as your dead for no good reason at al. epic fail
never mind i am such atool and misread that. just woke up and decided lethal meant insta kill
the aquatic sorcerer's 1st level bloodline power dehydrating touch states its a melee touch attack that instantly kills oozes, plants, and anything of the water or aquatic type. there is no save. so what do i do if a player decides to play this? do i simply remove all four tpes from my campaign setting or do i just make sure they never encounter one that isn't a push over. True strike + mirror image + dehydating touch = ha ha the huge elemental is dead? its feasible at just 3rd level. i know they shouldnt encounter that at lvl 3 but still, this seems broken
you definitely have to bein the area when the spell is initially cast to be affected. the rounds/lvl is the duration of the ongoing effect for those initially coated
why is there no save for tis instant kill ability? am i too take it that the developers intended for a sorcere to be able too kill something above their cr in one hit? true strike + mirror image and i one shot a treant at level 3?
in many religions suicide is a serious sin, therefore, a paladin could actually be committing an evil act by attacking something he has no hope of defeating
either way though, i would say that the cohort should be taken care of by the character with the feat, unless the party agrees otherwise. also, if the cohort does get a cut, i don't see a cavalier or druid being able to make avalid argument that their mount/animal companion should get a cut. you cant compare a cohort to a horse or cat in my opinon

StreamOfTheSky wrote: The cohort gets nothing save what his leader provides for him. If the leader puts him in harm's way without adequate gear, time to find a new leader.
A cohort is not the same as a PC. He has a strong loyalty and subordination tied to his leader that the other PCs don't have towards each other.
No further reason in-character is needed. If a player wants to take the best feat in the game AND get extra treasure for it, I'm going to make sure I take leadership as well just to balance it out.
Geeze, this is like the softer gentler version of, "If my PC is a klepto by nature and is able to hide some found loot for himself w/o the party having any way IC to know it's going on, what IC reason is there for him to not rip them off?" The reason is it's a game and you shouldn't be a cheesy jerk to your friends!
that doesnt even touch on the fact that you would never steal enough for it to be worth any risk of being shunned by the allies you depended on to slay that dragon to get the treasure. i mention this for rp purposes. i usually run thieves NE and they NEVER steal from the party like that(only excepton was when i was coerced by the cult of norgorber, had no choice, party never knew). my reasoning was that eventually the party is going to become suspicius of your wealth, unless you never spend the stolen treasure, in which case what was the point.

OP: I think you've come up with the best suggestion with the choke chain. You could have a simple collar with silver spikes pointing inwards; to change with it on would mean that they go straight through the character's neck.
If you want to play on his bestial nature, perhaps a full gimp-mask?
I would also consider having the unlocking/unleashing method to be a short ritual, involving more than one character, rather than a simple key or whatever. This would lend itself to the urgency of the situation; that is, in an emergency, do the characters continue with what they're doing or do they give up actions to unleash the fury?
A quick example: to unlock the collar, 4 magical keys need to be pushed into recesses on each side of the collar; each key must be held by a different individual.
The mechanics: 4 characters must stand next to the ranger and remain there for x rounds.
Note: Should the lycanthrope ever touch a key, or remove the collar without the keys, he will die.
Perhaps the change can only be brought about by the sound of a musical/magical instrument of some sort. [/QUOTE/]
id say the numerous rebuild suggestione that keep the flavour are excellent answers for how to limit his power. thats just me though.
i admit i only read the first page but i find it odd that there was no mention of using magic to aid retreat. in an adventure path i played in a moron pc released a helwasp swarm because he wouldn't listen to the casters afte they made their knowledge check(inquisitor of asmodeus who gave his word too quickly, poor rping as inquisitors consider themselves above the rules). anyways, we werelevel 5 and straight up knew we were screwed due to the knowledge checks. glitterdust blindes the swarm, haste got us away. lucky for them i was a cn conjurer with permanent mania or i likely would not have put myself at such risk to get everybody out, and the iquisitor would definitely not have gotten out. either way, retreat is not guaranteed sucess, but its far from impossible if you think things through. also, yes, i know leaving someone behind on purpose is a dick move, but from an rp point of view it can make sense when you have someone being obnoxious to thr point of solely being a liability
