New PFS character issues.

Pathfinder Society

Dark Archive

I started PFS last Sunday (the 24th) and have done everything I know to do with my card and registering. Yet, the only information available on my character is what I input. There are no sessions listed or anything.

Am I doing something wrong? When I click under sessions there are no options available.

Also, under character name, it gives the option for name and full name. Would name be 'Cadigan' and full name be 'Cadigan, the Swaying Mountain' as an example?

Lastly, when putting in class, is there a particular format? Do I need to put in class level or the various archetypes? Ie

Class: Monk 1 (drunken master, master of many styles, Monk of the Sacred Mountain).

At what point is this data permanently saved?

I just want to make sure it is done properly and looks good so that I don't have any regrets later- even utterly trivial ones.

PS. The GM's also stated that the Adopted Trait takes up a trait slot and therefor, I receive that and one other trait, no more, unless I take the Extra Traits feat. I once found a post by a developer (Ross, I believe) stating that I indeed, do get three but cannot seem to find it. How would I go about proving that I, in fact, do receive three traits and not just the two, if I take Adopted? My characters build largely benefits both thematically and mechanically from having all three traits. Losing even one requires an entire redesign since the character was built in part, on the trait concepts (and I don't have room to take a feat to give him traits he should have started with).

Any advice, help is appreciated guys. :)

Talk with your previous GM(s) about this. They may not have been able to enter your info before you registered. I'd like to point out that the chronicle sheet(s) you should have received after the game are an equally legitimate means of showing that you played a scenario or module.

Do whatever you want, you don't have to fill anything in unless you use the alias to play a PFS play-by-post on the boards here. (Some play-by-post GMs want things in a certain format, others could care less. Most won't mind if your character sheet is stored off-site - Google Docs, Myth-weavers, etc.)

You can change almost anything about the messageboard aliases at any time. (The exception is that you can't change the name after 10 posts.)

Beats me.

I think this is the thread you were looking for.

Adopted Trait

Silver Crusade 1/5 *

The Adopted trait itself says that you get another trait. Tell your GM to come off it and stop being a jerk. Alternately, add the 3rd trait you rightfully deserve and don't tell them. It's not like you would be cheating.

4/5 *

Just to clarify here: The chronicle is actually the legitimate means of showing you played. The online record is really more of a backup and a way for Paizo to get a feel for which scenarios are being played. Even if your scenario never gets reported, your chronicle is all you need.

Liberty's Edge 5/5 5/5 *** Venture-Lieutenant, Indiana—Martinsville

There is also another confusing addendum to the Adopted trait.

As it is a social trait, any race/racial traits that is chosen with it can not also be social itself. (For example, I had to use an actual feat to make Linguistics a class feat for my Tengu Monk as Etymololist is a Social trait as well as being a Gnome Racial Trait, hence I could not get it with Adopted)

I believe there are three or maybe four race traits that have been quantified as Social trait as well from the original trait guide within other Pathfinder Companion books.
