Greyhaze, the Kraken "mini" is awesome. All three versions; unpainted, painted, and the kickstarter exclusive painted version. I'm supporting your project. Looks like the unpainted Firbolg Skeleton stretch goal will be reached soon enough and then on to the painted version.
I have all the existing DC minis and they are top quality, so I can't wait until this project is completed to get new ones.

Thanks oddbender!
Just added a KickBack offer for backers.
If you've pledged $100 you get a $10 credit.
OR
If you've pledged $200 you get a $20 credit.
Also, new graphic spreadsheet check it out.

The Kraken is pretty decent, but I'm really looking forward to the painted Firbolg Skeleton! I'll be getting a couple of those. The next mini though, the Peryton, does not peak my interest at all. Hopefully there are others who like it / want it, but I won't be putting any money towards it. On the plus side, all the minis after it do interest me, so hopefully the "Peryton hurdle" is cleared quickly so we can start working towards the others.

Rainbow Road or Netherworld is a newly added pledge level and sounds like your best bet.
With Rainbow Road you get the Kraken painted and can add anything you like. This combines with our Kickback credit for a bonus $10 or $20 in extra goodies.
With Netherworld you can pick and choose any miniatures you like, and we've incorporated at $15 credit with this pledge level.

DungeonCrawler_greyhaze |

Added some new pics for the Peryton, wings have been tilted upwards, paint has been added.
We've also rounded the Kraken's base. :)
You can see the changes here http://dungeoncrawler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=975&start=75

Want to bypass the Kraken and get smaller minis? Here are some options with Canopy and the 4 pack deal.
USA - CANOPY LEVEL $37
Get x1 KS PAINT Firbolg Skeletons
Get x4 PPM Firbolg Skeletons
CANADA - CANOPY LEVEL $52
Get x2 KS PAINT Firbolg Skeleton (Shipping Cred)
Get x4 PPM Firbolg Skeletons
INTERNATIONAL - CANOPY LEVEL $52
Get x1 KS PAINT Firbolg Skeleton
Get x4 PPM Firbolg Skeletons
International gets the raw end of the deal right now, however, if you buddy up, you can get a somewhat ok deal...
Add 1 more 4 pack and you'll be over $60 ($27 + $27 +$15), then you can use Loyalty credit and Referral credit. If you have both credits for $10, you can get another KS Painted Firbolg Skeleton for a matching set.

If you've seen today's update, you'll see that we're offering free rewards as we unlock certain stretch goals (approximately every 3rd model).
We had something like this planned originally, but we've cranked it up a notch and made it a "reveal" rather than a "surprise".

Not only is the Colossal Kraken funded, (How many Colossals can you get your hands on?), but the Giant Firbolg Sleleton is funded. And now this KS is close to getting a Peryton funded. How many miniatures have you seen of this classic monster from the very first edition of D&D? And next up is a Mermaid.
For those that like their miniatures, this is one awesome KS to get miniatures of things never before seen in plastic and prepainted too.

Sadly it looks like the "Peryton hurdle" will not be cleared. (Don't even think I've seen $1 added over the last 48 hours). For Kickstarter projects like this I think it is important that the miniatures being offered appeal to a majority of the market.
Ever since D&D introduced their Harbinger set, I have been a devout follower and plasti-crack addict. I have camped all the official miniature discussion forums. Based on this experience, I can say I cannot recall seeing discussion on people wanting a Peryton miniature. I'm not saying that "some" people don't want one, but I am saying that most people do not have a "desire" to have one. I'm probably somewhere in the middle of that range. I am a collector and I appreciate adding new creatures to my collection, but I still like to have a creature that will likely be used at the gaming table.
Greyhaze, has done a good job in the past of identifying miniatures which there is a sizable demand for. In general, these miniature offerings reflect that too. Based on my experience and judgement, I am confident in saying that there would be a fair amount of consumer demand for:
- Mermaid
- Massive Tentacle (Especially since it is compatible with the Kraken).
- Firbolg Zombie
- Water Elemental Lord
These minis are in my "undecided" category:
- Botanimoth: I've never heard of it, or had use for one, or seen discussions of people wanting one. That said, it appears to be a plant creature (which is under-represented in pre-painted mini lines) and to me it has sort of a cthulhu-ish look to it, which would draw in quite a few more interested persons. I do want one, but I am unsure if there is large enough demand for one.
- Jellyshroom: Also a mini that I have never had a use for or seen any discussion about a demand for them. This is one of those minis that just look cool to me so I want some, but I suspect for those people that only buy minis that they plan to use -- these too may have little demand.
Well, that is my IMHO review of these minis. I hope that the information I have posted (or the further discussion of people offering their opinions and critiquing mine) will assist Greyhaze in further Kickstarter endeavors. To me this Kickstarter has already been a great success, getting 2 minis that I am excited about adding to my collection, and I thank Greyhaze for making it happen.

The KS is only 2/3 over, so there is certainly lots of time to reach the mark, and beyond. I highly suspect that if the massive tentacle was next in line instead of the mermaid, that there would be a sudden influx of cash. My Kraken is going feel like its missing something without those tentacles :)

DungeonCrawler_greyhaze |

Hey Kor, we tried running a poll for popularity the Peryton was still tops, the mermaid was next. It's really hard to tell what the most popular minis are with a small sampling though.
http://dungeoncrawler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=988
HOWEVER - the Peryton is funded! Now on to the painted version!
Also, check out our pledge levels, and if you're in the SKY HIGH pledge levels - we have some cool news for you too! :)

It seems I missed the poll. I was going to suggest doing one.
Those results are very different from what I would have imagined. I thought for sure the massive tentacle would have had higher support. I now think I must be out of touch with what people are interested in for minis. I would have thought the ranking order would come up something like:
1. Massive Tentacle (especially based on the demand for the original tentacle set.)
2. Water Elemental Lord
3. Firbold Zombie
4. Mermaid
5. Botanimoth
6. Peryton
7. Bases
Going by those results, its almost the opposite :)
Well, there's still lots of time left... if we can get them all done then the order doesn't really matter :)

DungeonCrawler_greyhaze |

heheh, sorry about that. :)
We just had some huge news this morning from Fat Dragon Games! They have offered to give our backers a free copy of the build-it-yourself SEA DRAGON! :sweet:
Now your Kraken can get pesky adventurers to do battle with it on the high seas! Anyone that backs us for a Kraken gets this PDF included.

Different strokes!
My list would be more like the following:
1. Mermaid (This is a very well known mythological creature that has never been made in PPM. This surprises me.) Plus the sculpt is really sweet.
2. Water Elemental Lord (The Water Elemental has never been made in the Huge Size. So badly needed!)
3.) Peryton - This is a classic 1st Edition Monster Manual creature that has never been made in PPM.
4.) Botanimoth - Muck Graul! We do not have a plant creature in the Huge Size category, This would be nice to have.
5.) Massive Tentacle - This would be a nice plus to go with the Kraken. There are a number of things out there to proxy if all you are looking for is a massive tentacle.
6.) Firbolg Zombie - There have been a couple of Large Zombies made in PPM, but none that will look like this.
7.) Bases - I really like the bases, but minis will always come ahead of them.

Once I have my unkindness of painted Perytons, it will be the Botanimoth that I really want next. Not to say I don't want a few Mermaids but having my players slowly pulled to the gaping jaws of a massive little shop of horrors after they had to run from the Perytons sounds sweet.
No I am not this evil to my players, but I can think it.

DSXMachina |

Remember Fat Dragon Games have their own KS that finishes in a bit. Here.
Congratulations on the Peryton. And hopefully this balloons even more.

Kor - Orc Scrollkeeper |

As of today you can inter-mix (just announced it). :)
That's great. You drained some more plasti-crack money from me.
I'm also going to assume that the tentacle goal is also going to be reached in the next few days, so I have thrown my money in for that as well. The hardest decision was between 4 or 8 of them. Just getting 1 was never an option :)
