In one group of which I'm a part, our party has one character who really dishes out damage, to the point that he one-shots just about anything the DM throws at us, as long as he can get in range. As someone who wants to make sure everyone at the table's having fun, and as someone who may DM for this group in the future, I'm looking for suggestions to help mitigate the "one player does all the work in combat" problem... suggestions which won't end up getting the rest of the party slaughtered.
One thing the DM has recently implemented which seems to have helped somewhat is giving his baddies max HP instead of average. What have you done in similar situations that has worked? What would you try in such a situation?
Please avoid the following responses:
- Kick the player!
- Kick the DM!
- Focus the character 100% of the time to the exclusion of all others!
- Class A is totally overpowered!
- LolImatroll.
- Anything else that isn't productive or beneficial.

You can also just run with it.
He can one shot everything? Good. Your winning. He's the quarterback. Support him.
Get the rest of the party to keep him hasted, flying, unentangled, free of enchantments, and so on and so forth. Pump skills and take feats that reduce the cost of magic items - then pool your money and make him a god. Get someone in your group with a mad high Perception and act as a spotter.
Your quarter back doesn't need you but it is only a matter of time before the machines of god try to screw him. Be ready for it.
