Resoning for mulitclassing Paladin from Sorc /

Advice

OK my character is a Nomad/Jypsy from the Rise of the Runelords adventure books. He is from the area outside of Sandport and trades with the other towns/cities in the area as well as Sandport.

His starting class is Sorcerer, in theme with jypsy caster lore stuff.
Long ago in his liniage was a dragon and he does not know it. The Sorcerer abilities have just started comming to him claws in battle out of nowhere and flames shooting from hands unexpectedly.

Now he will be in Sandport to start the adventuring and the character I have in mind is a sor3/paladin2/dragon diciple xx follower of Apsu.

The probblem I am having is what would be his reasoning behind and how would he go about becoming a paladin during play. I have not played a paladin before from any lvl.

Any help is appreciated.

That is a good question for RPing. Id say the character would seek and become a paladin to better get control over his power through divine aid and discipline in order to learn how to harness its power to better aid his god's ideals.

This is pretty good.

Alternatively, you could ask your DM to have a Paladin or Cleric of Apsu NPC put into the campaign, who your character can then get close to, and eventually get divine and martial training from the NPC.

Thank you both. This is a perfect reason and I will discuss adding Apsu cleric/paladin/shrine to the city of Sandport.
