Ok, here's the question. (And apologies if it has been asked, I was unable to find it on the search function)

The Aldori dueling feat gives you a +2 shield bonus when using it in one hand. I'm just wondering, if the weapon has the ghost touch property, does that extend to incorporeal touch attacks?

Pros:

  • It can't be augmented by other shield bonuses or properties.
  • It represents a substantial investment of feats/gold (5 feats, +1 weapon property.)
  • It is a niche area that can be emulated with other resources (ring of force shield, wand of shield).
  • Shield bonuses are 'weaker' than dodge bonuses

    Cons:

  • Ghost touch weapons are cheaper than ghost touch armor, freeing up gold for other resources.
  • It does provide more value for the feat.

Now as I see it, stylized, it is a matter of visualizing how the shield bonus works. If it is blocking/parrying as the 'shield bonus' then a ghost touch weapon should apply.

    Thoughts?

No, it does not. I can understand the logic to why you think it might, but nothing in the rules as written supports it.
