Wands to qualify for feats?

Advice

Some feats, like Dimensional Agility, requires the ability to cast a spell. I know that feats can be meet by magic items. So the question is, can you qualify for Dimensional Agility with a wand of dimension door?

Thanks

Question: Does possessing a wand of dimension door grant a character the ability to cast dimension door?

Answer: No, it allows him to trigger a magic item which casts the dimension door spell.

Conclusion: no, this loophole is shut.

Funny name, thanks.

How about Imbue with Spell Ability?

"You transfer some of your currently prepared spells, and the ability to cast them, to another creature." It's explicit: the ability to cast a spell. And it's permanent until discharged.

(no, I wouldn't allow it either. But still, RAW).

That would work if you got a decent level summoner to use that spell off an item. Dimension Door is a 2nd level spell for them.

Of course, even if you could qualify for the feat that way, you'd still lose the benefits of the feat as soon as you no longer have the ability to cast the spell. So it probably wouldn't be a particularly useful trick.

Dimension door, by the way, doesn't qualify for imbue with spell ability: "Only cleric spells from the schools of abjuration, divination, and conjuration (healing) can be transferred."

And only prepared spells can be transferred: "You transfer some of your currently prepared spells, and the ability to cast them, to another creature."

The "ABILITY TO CAST SPELLS" is the "SPELLS" ability under a class description/features. If the class does not state "SPELLS" you don't have the ABILITY, even if, through some other means, you can cast spells. RAW and RAI.
