Soon my party may begins a campaign with the idea "try something wild". And for some time I have wanted to try Malefactor. But first I would like to ask some questions about the gameplay of the class.
1- Would the other party members (characters, not players) hate my for the ST penalty some much as I fear?
2- What kind of build can be with the class? Have some nice powers, but not enough to be considered a "caster". And the Harrowing Strike not seem a good enough bonus to combat to compensate the fact that the class is medium BAB without spells.
3- What kind of house rules people do the class? My game group have no problem with 3PP classes, but many times we touch them a little; we have a Death Mage from Super Genius in Carrion Crown, but with some changes, like making it a spontaneous caster with more spell selection. What would need the Malefactor?
Thank for responses.

Hey Alaryth! I actually have a Malefactor player in my home campaign, and I can tell you that they chose to take the rogue's place. The Malefactor's curses really de-buff the enemies, and the fair skill selection allows the Malefactor to take that role with only a few exceptions.
Do the other players hate them? Hate is a strong word, and it makes for some great roleplaying.
If you are looking for more rules, one of the next supplements TPK puts out will actually be a book of bonus content for the Malefactor. :P

I'm not sure the characters would know about the Aura of Misfortune. You could try to make the malefactor be fairly "sticky", with feats like Step Up and Following Step. That way you can keep enemies in your aura, so if you have another character in the party that deals with saves, they can really knock the enemy out.
One possible modification you could make is to make Harrowing Strike to be an attack action rather than a standard action. This would let you use it with Vital Strike, which takes away some of the sting from not being able to full attack.
Maybe TPK found this to be too good in playtesting, but checking what the effects of the Harrowing Strike are, I'm not so sure about that.

TPK Games, that future supplement are really good news. An (approximate) time for that would be welcome.
We surely will potenciate Harrowing Strike. Under carefull reading, is still more weak than I thought first; only works if the enemy is already debuffed¡. That means that normally can't be used on the first action of combat. Possibly we will make that Harrowing potenciates a normal attack instead of being a standard action itself (my group talks everybody about what house rules we made). I will say the decission here.

Cool. We would love to hear about how it works in your game. Do remember though that other classes can "curse" your opponent first too. A Witch, Hexcrafter Magus or even a wizard with the curse spell all could do the trick.
Also, the Malefactor supplement is called More Malcontent, and written. It will be out as an April release. Have fun and good gaming!
