I'm looking 2 levels ahead at what spells to pick for my Sorcerer [Fey- Sylvan] at level 12.
Because I have an Animal Companion there are some spell that get trashed in the guides that might be a better option for me because of the share spell ability that Bop [my AC - Giant Praying Mantis] gets.
I'm looking at Elemental Body III, Beast Shape IV and Monstrous Physique IV.
The Earth Elemental [large] option grants +6 Str, -2 Dex, +2 Con plus Earthglide.
Having looked through the Monstrous Humaniod list I picked out a Hungerer Lamia [Huge] which grants Darvision 90ft., Resist 20 Fire/Electricity/Acid, +8 to saves vs Poison and +6 Str, -4 Dex & +6 Natural Armour.
I was wondering whether anyone knows of any good Beast Shape IV options firstly, and secondly whether I'm wasting my time considering these types of spells at all!

How about Battlemind Link between your mantis and the party fighter or barbarian?
Also Transformation is a very strong buff as well.

Beast Shape IV = Catoblepas with a magnificent poisonous breath weapon dealing Con damage and requiring three saves to cure, all at the spell's DC.At the spell's DC?
Wouldn’t it be the usual DC for breath weapons (DC 10 + 1/2 breathing creature's racial HD + breathing creature's Con modifier)? Or, for the giant mantis animal companion of 12th-level sylvan sorceror without the boon companion feat or any constitution boosts, DC 16?
The spell says you gain the breath weapon but doesn't say that you need to re-work it. However I see where you're coming from as you're not actually the creature so why would you gain it's Con based DC.
