Deaf Oracle + Item of Silent Image = Communication?

I had this idea while thinking about the Deaf curse for Oracles.
With one point in Linguistics you can learn to read lips in any languages you know. (We're going to ignore how rediculous that is) That takes care of knowing what's being said.
Deaf doesn't state that you're illiterate like your True Primitive Barbarian friend. Therefore you get an item of use-activated Silent Image. Instant air-writing.
Cool idea? Stupid?
Any legal glitches I am unaware of?

I've had the idea for gloves that turns sign language into subtitles, using silent image as the base. I thought it was cool too.

silent image requires concentration while talking is a free action. Use activated won't bypass that limitation.

Add in the ability to use the gloves as a free action for a few hundred to a thousand gold.

Druids use Natural Spell plus Ghost Sound to communicate in a similar fashion.
