Sleep spell question

Rules Questions

Is the sleep spell an incantation or the utterance of a single command word? Everything I've seen simply mentions it has a verbal component Thanks!

With a casting time of one round, with verbal, somatic and material components, Sleep seems to be a rather complexe incantation.

Gotcha, thanks! Didn't know if components were always considered equal or simultaneous.

It's a spell that takes a standard action and has verbal, somatic, and material components. Which makes it pretty much like almost every other standard action cast spell out there.

Casting time of 1 round isn't the same as casting time standard action.

You're right. which means it's not a quick simple one word command.

Now the Cleric command spell though.....

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The verbal component of "sleep," which has been revealed in a super secret email sent out to only the most dedicated and hard-core arcane player experts, is the following:

"Soft kitty,
Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty,
Sleepy kitty,
Purr, purr, purr."

The thing is that if you mess up even the tiniest fragment of a syllable, you have to start all over again, which is why it usually takes a full round.
