Hey guys and gals, just assuming, but i have been thinking of how fun it would be too have a rogue that has both the minor and major magic rogue skill. Idk if its effective, but i just find it fun too do a sneak attack with a shocking grasp or touch of fatigue. Nothing beats doing 10d6 on a target. lol. Any ideas would be appreciated, and if you think its dumb w/o going too arcane trickster prestige class, its understandable, just an idea i was thinking of.

I like vanish as my major magic talent. Short-duration, but almost guaranteed to get a good sneak attack in there.
Particularly if you use Quicken Spell-like Ability with it.
And it opens up Dispelling Strike as an advanced rogue talent. I like the idea of dispelling buffs every time I sneak attack ;)

2 lvls of sorc or wiz nets you much more without giving up too much, and 4 lvls of magus are almost ideal if you take magical talent as a trait, also it's a poor mans TWF.
2lvl of pure caster gets you a bunch of spells, free wand use, +1 to hit, and a much needed +3 to will and saves you a net of 1 rogue talent.
4 lvls of magus gets you even more spells, an interesting and useful combat option, +4 to fort and will, and the ability to take the extra arcana feat (!). Compared to what you lose, you are coming out way ahead by the numbers!
Plus, if you are into the disguise skill, you could dress up and pass yourself off as an arcanist. I had a rogue with a lvl in cleric and wiz, how had a different cover ID for every town he passed through.

I quite like the idea of using the major magic talent to pick up the mage armour spell. It lasts for 1 hour per level and can be used twice a day, so even at level 4 that covers 8 hours of adventuring. The +4 to AC would be really useful and as far as I understood it, there is nothing in the spell description to stop it stacking with light armour. So with an 18 Dex and leather armour you are looking at a 20 AC before you add things like dodge or magic items into the mix.

Honestly, even 1 lvl of pure caster would be preferable to both talents put together.
I dunno. The dispelling strike advanced rogue talent is pretty nice looking. You're not stacking the sunder bonuses that a barbarian can or ignoring miss chances, but can do it turn after turn without rage cycling and it looks to me like you can get multiple attempts in one turn with a full attack.
If you have a reliable flanking partner or some other way to sneak attack consistently this looks like it's well worth three rogue talents.
