Drawing a weapon while standing up + making holy water vials

Rules Questions

Two issues came up during play:

1. Can a person draw a weapon as PART of standing up, just like moving? The logic is that perhaps a skilled combatant can get up and draw a weapon as well (because you'd be able to do so in real life).

2. Making holy water vials, do you need the brew potion feat? The players were saying that it's a simple matter of making holy water and pouring it into a vial.

In the Combat section, it says that a player with a +1 BAB can draw a weapon as a free action combined with another move. Standing up from prone is a move action, so I would say they could.

Holy Water is made by casting Bless Water and touching a flask of water.

Thanks, I thought that you needed to move at least 10ft before you could draw a weapon and that since brew potion was a feat that maybe there'd be a restriction against making holy water flasks.

Liberty's Edge

Actually, regarding point one, the drawing of a weapon must be part of a regular move, not just a move action. No, you cannot draw a weapon while standing from prone (CRB, pg 187).

Thanks for clarifying that, HangarFlying! I was only somewhat sure of my answer.
