So, with the discovery that the Coca Plant exists in Golarion, as does the drug, Cocaine, made from it(see here), I have decided to try to stat it out.

Any suggestions as to how?


Whats it with you and your cocaine all the time?


Cocaine production would require fairly strong acids, which are made with alchemy, to which economy of scale doesn't apply. It seems unlikely, given the relatively mild effects of cocaine vs. some of the drugs already listed that production would exist at any scale beyond the occasional curious alchemist. Most people would chew the raw leaves, or better yet, brew them into tea (traditionally with lime). As for how strong that would be, it's a bit stronger than a strong caffeinated beverage, but somewhat different.

Well, if cocaine is statted up, I'd like to see it made and used by the Goblins. Because that would explain so very, very @#$&ing much.

That is too funny.

I believe that coke should probably have some medicinal usages like pain relief and such. As for effects, I would look at a +4 vs fear effects, possible increase in perception, initiative, and maybe a bonus to strength checks. Maybe allow Endurance feat-like effect for a few hours. The downside would be stuff like crashing, need for sleep 6 hours or so after usage, loss of scent/smell based perception for a bit, a bit of weakness....effects that could be staved off with another dose.
Something similar to a barbarian's rage boosts (not nearly as str oriented) with a similar downside only the effects last much longer...

If I were to do it the lazy way I would simply double all the numbers (both good and bad) and switch addiction to major.


+2 STR Bonus from all the push-ups you're going to want to do while you're all dialed up.

I'm intrigued, my Sorcerer collects drugs (he doesn't DO them, he just tries to push them on other people).

This way he can say he sells cocaine and cocaine accessories.

What is the best statted drug to use as a base?


Slaver's Drops?

Perhaps with an added Morale bonus to saves against Fear, and a Major addiction?

Con damage instead of Str?

Exalted DOES have stats for cocaine.


An example of a coke high..

Obviously cocaine immediately gives you hand to hand combat skills, Acrobatics bonus, temporarily allows you to use guns as a class ability, and the catch off guard feat.

Furthermore, I postulate that its usage, nay posession, has a percentile chance of summoning Dire Thugs to your location, immediately triggering combat without chance for diplomacy. The Dire Thug, as we all know, attacks in groups of no less than three, and fights until death.

It also creates a thirty foot radius magic nullification zone to, once again, leave the wizard uselessly waving a wand around and chanting arcanobabble.

Edit: The logical conclusion to this is that alchemists everywhere must now invent sudafed, that can be cooked down into meth in the game. We all know that meth is the poor man's coke, with a longer high for much cheaper, at the small cost of a rapidly deteriorating health....but hey; we've got restoration spells.

Type inhaled,injury; Addiction major, Fortitude DC 20

Price 50 gp

Effects 4 hours; +4 alchemical bonus on all checks and saves affected by endurance and resisting the effects of altitude sickness, +2 strength, and gain Diehard as a feat.

Damage Int and 1d4 Wis damage

That bonus to strength should probably be Alchemical.
