That's not completely true either. Not everything has to end, some things just get better with time. We don't end, we just relocate to an alternate phase of existence. Right?

I brought this on myself by being an idiot and thinking that I needed another dog. It is my fault that I ended up with such a sweet needy fur baby. I'm really trying my best, but there's no real way of knowing what he went through before ending up with me, and now he's losing teeth as well. I mean, it's his baby teeth....but it's just a lot and with the way everything is....I don't know what I was thinking.
X and Sivan really need you right now and I'm sorry things are so crazy for you guys too. I know what I'm trying to say, but I'm too tired and it's not coming out well.
These games are just games, but your family is your life and we totally get that. You never have to worry about not keeping up, or keeping up...because your family always comes first, always.
I put him downstairs and shut the door. He's never gonna settle down up here and I can't have him running around peeing all over the place. I get it that it's not his fault because of the swelling and stuff, but that doesn't make it any less frustrating.
I feel guilty no matter what I do, and I do it to myself.

Okay, so actually went out to lunch with Ashley and Jonathan Sunday afternoon cuz damn, I really needed other human interaction and to be able to actually be out of the crazy house for a bit with my Boobear.
There were things we needed from the store, and Henry had to take me by the Imaging place, so I know where I'm going for my appt Wed.
Had a complete melt down...at work, don't even really know why. But Ashley, who is like my dog mom guru, came by the house to visit after lunch on Sunday cuz that swelling from his surgery isn't going down after a week, and I was worried about it and wanted her to look at it. She said it was totally not normal and I needed to get him into a vet as soon as possible.
So, she told Shannon who told me first thing this morning that I needed to call a vet. We started talking, and she was just...being Shannon and talking about how I should have waited to get the dog with everything I had going on, when she was the one trying to get me to take another dog off her hands in the first place. I tried explaining about why I felt I needed him and how I probably was just trying to fill the gaping hole that Ella left in my heart and then Boom....crying ensued, I got really embarrassed that I was crying in front of everyone, and then I guess Shannon felt like crap for making me cry, cuz the next thing I knew she was back where I was, calling vets and trying to find someone who could see him and making sure they take care credit and everything.
Super long story slightly shorter, she got him into an animal clinic near where we work on Friday morning. She was supposed to come in at 9, but switched with me so I could take him there at 9. She said I could come in at 11:30 if I needed to in case they needed me to stay there and give me time to take him back home if I needed to.
It's just...it's crazy right now, so I'm not sure when we'll be able to post. I needs sleep sleep now though.

So, between trying to watch Duke 24/7, dealing with Shannon being Shannon, and my own procedure coming up this Thursday...I'm just exhausted. Physically, mentally, and emotionally.
While I'm recovering, Henry is pretty much gonna be stuck taking care of both dogs.
That being said, neither one of us is probably gonna be able to post till this weekend sometime.
Everything is just so hectic crazy right now.

I'm feeling a little lost as to what's going on too. I've just been really hurting and tired and stressed out and there's just been so much stuff going on that I haven't had the time to really go through and figure out where everyone is and what's going on.
Tomorrow we are going over to his mom's house to spend some time with her and have my birthday dinner with her. We also have to start talking to her about Christmas.
For the last several years we've had it with her because we couldn't take one day off to drive all the way out to my parent's house...but this time we're both gonna be off and it's on a weekend and honestly, I don't know how many more Christmases we'll have with them.
All of this depends on what happens when they go to Cali though. If they come back sick, we're not going out there because we can't afford to jeopardize our jobs or health.
Today we also actually went to a New Balance store and found some shoes that won't kill my feet to be in all day and would actually give me the support I need.
So...between the roughly 5 mo old puppy, my body that likes to torture me, a$$holes at work that don't know how to do their damn job, and everything Henry is having to deal with at work, stuff has been super crazy hectic stressful.
I'm sorry we've been having such a hard time keeping up with posting and stuff, but life us just ultra crazy right now. My parents are coming out later this week, since they're gonna be driving to So. Cal with my sister, but I'm not sure how long they're gonna be here or when they're leaving, and I'm out of my Lorazepam until I see my PCP on the 20th.
Anyways, I'm really sorry I haven't been able to keep up with what's going on, but by the time I finally get the dogs settled down and put up for the night, I'm exhausted and hurting too much to think about it.
Also, I went back to that New Balance store, cuz those shoes were too heavy and hard on my feet. So, I exchanged them for some shoes that are a better balance of support and cushioning.
Went out to dinner with friends, dogs schedule got shot all to hell, so that's why I'm still up.
Just take it easy, post when you can, and rest whenever you get the opportunity.
I'm trying, but my legs and feet especially, haved been hurting really bad. Hence the no sleeping.
Since I'm going to be off tomorrow as well, I'll try to post something then. Either before or after my Dr appt. I'll have to reread some stuff to try and remember what's going on.
I'm trying to get caught up and post and stuff, but these dogs are making it very difficult to do so.
I just let them outside to run around and stuff. They been going crazy, and I'm thinking of leaving early for my 2:30 Dr. Appt just so I can get out of the house az little longer, away from them.

I'm sorry. That's happened to me lots of times and it really pisses me off when it happens cuz I can never really remember what I said or did, and then it's almost never as good the second time around.
No worries, you get to it when you get to it.
So, my mom and dad are in CA. The antibiotics the doctor out here put her on for her infection were making her sick, so the doctor in CA took her off of them.
My sister says she's doing better, but I only have her word to go on so....
They won't be back till December and I really do hope that she's okay. My mom was telling me about the fires out there and how much smoke there is. She said you would think it's a really bad storm brewing, but it's just smoke, and the snow is just ash.
So sad. It has a long way to go before reaching my siblings homes, though I feel so awful for all those families as well as the lost forest areas, and the wildlife that has suffered, died, and lost their homes.
Being from CA though, I have to say that I'm pretty used to there being fires...though this one seems really really bad. I used to say that CA had two seasons. Mud slide season, and fire season.
Yeah. There's areas in California and parts of Oregon, where we can't even schedule appointments because of the air condition being hazardous to techs.

I'm not sure exactly what part of the valley they're in. It's been a really really really long time since we've been there.
I know my parents took the 40 all the way out there, so I think they went through San Bernadino county? They were going to my brother's house first, and he's in Arcadia. There are like little areas outside of LA, which is where we lived. Even though we weren't that far away from LA, it would take forever to get anywhere cuz of traffic.
I grew up in Temple City, Henry grew up in Glendale.
Anyways, I remember that the fires were always made worse by the winds that would blow through the Santa Anna mountain range. I don't ever remember it being as bad as what my mom is describing though.
So yeah, I totally get you guys not sending your techs out there. I just really hope that my family has enough sense to get gone if they really need to. My sister will probably be like, "Oh the fires are fake, we don't need to evacuate."
They won't give them a choice if they're in the path of the fires. The police are literally going to people's houses and telling them to get the hell out
I'm just saying, my sister is really stupid....and crazy. LOL
If it gets that bad, I'm sure one of them will text me and let me know what's going on.
I think they're further away from the fires, though the smoke is everywhere. Not like I can do anything about it anyways.
I just can't remember how things are laid out there in relation to where my siblings live, so I can't say with any certainty how close they are to the fires.
I barely slept last night. It's been raining for the past few days and I've been hurting really bad.

It's not you. Stuff has been chaos for me too. Dealing with a bunch of things, and yesterday was taking Sivan to eye appointments and renewing license, which she'll actually have to go in person to deal with because it's an enhanced license.
I took tomorrow off and plan to spend most of the day writing so will post in all the games in the next 24 hrs. Sorry Henry.
It's totally okay. I think life has been a little more than chaotic for most of us lately.

I think these games have truly run their course. It's been seven and (almost) a half years since we started playing together. The world has changed so much in that time and so have we. Life happened: new jobs, new home and new responsibilities. That's just me and Karen. Let's not forget the pandemic, while we're at it. I know you've been through a lot of crap, Mark, and providing for your family is more important than a story that isn't...the same anymore.
These characters are like old high school friends. They're familiar, they've done some pretty cool stuff back in the day, but they're no longer relatable. It's hard for me to give these NPCs character like I used to do. This game deserved an ending maybe three years ago. Now, it just feels like we're trying to chase some magic that isn't there. If it's still there, it has faded beyond recognition.
Let's face the fact: you were always meant to save the day. It wasn't going to matter what I threw at you. There's no suspense in Perception checks, there's no threat in the combats. And I think, deep down, you all know this. I just wanted to tell a good story with some character development and some adult stuff handled maturely. It was what I was sorely lacking in my history of playing RPGs.
In many ways, this game was a success. We are still the second longest game on Paizo. But I can't slap band-aids on this anymore. I dragged Rysky into something that couldn't/wouldn't accommodate a new player (something I really feel bad about) and, without Nick here, this became more work than I was willing to put into it. A squillion NPCs can't prop up this game.
The end of Icathia/Zahvroma doesn't mean the end of our friendship. It doesn't mean that we can't play another game. But I think I should slap an epilogue on these and do something different.
