I know it might seem a bit harsh, but it would be worse in the long run to let her think that such behavior was acceptable or even okay for that matter. Before Kaplan's "teaching method" I was pretty much on my way to being a total sociopath. I don't think I turned out too bad and discipline when applied in the correct manner is a good thing. She's not gonna turn into a deviant from one stinging swat on her bottom and it lets her know I'm not gonna tolerate any of her bull$hit. Besides.....I'm sure if word got back to her mother about how she was talking to Arista....she'd get more than a stern talking to and one little swat on her rear.

Okay.....so....off phone with mother. They are going to be out here tomorrow.....but not staying the night at my damn house. Spent the better part of last Saturday with my sister finding furniture that she could put in her house for them to sleep on. At least my sister understands my feelings and she was the one that talked to mom and dad and told them that she doesn't feel good about them staying with us anymore either. Especially after what happened the last time they were out here and then people getting killed right in front of my apartment...like literally. So she got a recliner and sleeper sofa for them.
However they have to come here first apparently cuz they're bringing a bunch of food with them that needs to be refrigerated and my sister has to work tomorrow and no telling what time she'll get home and I had to tell my mother, "Well...our other teacher is out with strep throat so if she's still out tomorrow I might not be off until after 5:30 like I was tonight...." So now, I have to call her at some point tomorrow and let her know if the girl is there or not so they know when to leave their house so they're not sitting outside my apartment waiting on me all day.....good grief.
Now we is gonna get some damn clothes on and go to Slim Chickens to get something to eat because with everything going on I forgot to take something out of the freezer last night to defrost for dinner tonight.

Alrighty, I've taken my medicine....mostly allergy stuff and some ibuprofen. I'm still coughing and feeling pretty crappy....but I gotta go to sleep too somehow. I hope I don't stay up forever coughing like I did the other night.

Eh....it was whatever. Not even 10:00 yet and I'm soaked from sweating already. Come on whenever I get to go home cuz our other teacher is still out, but at least we only have 8 kids today.
That's good at least. About to take a nap then get up in 3 1/2 hours to go to X's school. Since his birthday isn't on a school day, I'm going to read his class a story in the afternoon, and Sivan took a half day to be there too. We're bringing gift bags for his class.

Hope the kids had fun. Were you able to take any time off work for his birthday this weekend? I'm sure he was glad just to have you and Sivan there with him at school today. Whatever you guys do I'm sure he'll have a blast and it'll be great.

Yeah I got Sunday off (day after) and we're throwing him a party at a ranch, so they get to ride horses. Got a great rate of $15 per kid and it includes petting zoo.

Really....I would just be happy with the riding horses part. I could do that for a couple of hours and just be happy as can be.
At dinner it was just me and Henry, my biological parental units, my sister, my less skanky niece who is supposedly marrying into some mexican cartel family.....and my adorable J.J. Hims is soooo cute! It was another Asian buffet and I think the raw fish/ice cream combination didn't really agree with me cuz my stomach is throwing absolute fits right now.
Not pretty....not at all. *shakes head*
Upside...we had to go to the store cuz we were out of bread and jelly and stuff and I got some frozen yogurt and bananas to make smoothies with!! YUMMMY!!!!!
The froyo is pineapple coconut, and I thought I'd throw in some banana and strawberries that I have.....soooooooooo good!!

It says a lot that the more reputable niece is the one marrying into the Mexican Cartel.
The whole thing is kinda mysterious and a little....I don't know, she's practically shitting herself which I think is HILARIOUS!! We didn't know any of this about Jorge when we first met him. I just thought he was really nice and I liked the way he would tell her if he didn't like the clothes she was wearing because they looked "too revealing". He was never mean or disrespectful about it....just matter of fact. He would tell her stuff like she was pretty enough without showing off everything she had and that no one else needed to see it.....I liked him from the get go and have been rooting for him from the get go cuz out of all the skeezy guys she's been with....he is the complete opposite and treats her like a freakin' princess.
Spoils her rotten is more like it. Anyways....they went to Las Vegas for her 21st birthday....Jorge, Tiffany, Brandi, her baby daddy, J.J., my sister Donna....plus some of Jorge's family...like his mom, dad...brother. Plus...my sister and brother from CA went up there to see them as well....so it was like this HUGE family thing.
While they were up there....Jorge's mom takes my niece into a JEWLERY store and tells her to "pick something out". The sales guy goes over and asks Tiffany what the price range is and she has no clue and just looks at Jorge's mom and she's all like, "Oh six thousand"....just like that....I mean...Oh my freakin' God!! Now Tiffany is ALL wiggin' out cuz his Grandma from Mexico City is facebooking her and asking her all sorts of stuff in formal spanish....I don't know....apparently his family owns like a lot of stuff like properties and things in Mexico City....
It's like whatever....it doesn't change how I feel about Jorge because I know that he's a really honest to goodness good guy. I just hope my neice is smart enough to see that and doesn't mess it up to end up with some total loser.
Sounds like Grandma's auditioning her for membership in the family. Like you get no further if you don't check out. On the plus side, if you've made it to Grandma, the relationship's pretty legit.

Yeah....Tiffany is really worried about offending her too because she doesn't speak actual spanish and is having to rely on Google Translate to talk to Grandma.
They've been together for a few years now and he already gave her a promise ring last year....this is the engagement ring they're looking at and apparently they're super traditional and his family pays for the whole wedding and everything. They're getting her the dress and just...everything.
I like it....if it scares her this much....it might mean that she's actually found the one that's right for her.
He really is a super great guy though. I just love him....in a total Aunt way. Sorry...just thought that came out sounding weirder than I meant.

Soooo....I'm thinking of testing something out on my last batch of cookies. I'm curious to see what a light sprinkling of cinnamon sugar on top of the cookie would do to the flavor as it cooks.
Henry thinks it would detract from the flavor of pumpkin and spices and they're his favorite cookie.....so I don't know if I really wanna mess with the recipe or not.
I was just too curious to let it go...so, with the last 11 cookies I made the cinnamon sugar and sprinkled a little on the top of each cookie.....we'll see how they turn out.
I told Henry that if he hated it I'd never do it again.
As long as he has non-experimental ones to enjoy, lol.
OH lots and lots.....that recipe made 115 cookies total and I only did that to 11 of them....so I think he'll be alright. Lol
He's about ready to pass out now.....I gotta go have breakfast with my parents in the morning and my mom said she was gonna call me when they got up which will probably be about 7 or so.....I may not go to that fall festival thingy tomorrow....I don't want Henry to have to drive me since I can't see really well in the dark and he has GOT to rest and everything tomorrow.
It just wouldn't be fair to him....

Alrighty....I are tired now. I'm hurting pretty bad too between the kids climbing on me, biting me, gouging me with their nails, pinching me, and just....all the other general stuff...I'm sore as hell. I gonna go lay down so I can get some sleep before I have to go driving myself in the rain to see my parents off.

Well....just got back from farewell breakfast with my parents and my sister Donna. Henry still sleeping thankfully, the darkness from the rain helps with that. It was pouring down rain on my way to Denny's...but I made it there without incident as well as back home in lighter rain. Luckily it's not that far from our apartment and there wasn't much traffic on the road. I can tell that we really really need to get our brakes changed though. Good thing we'll be getting that taken care of next weekend.
I had the biscuit and gravy breakfast with scrambled eggs and hashbrowns....all four of us got $4 breakfasts. Mom and dad got their value slam cuz they didn't want anything sitting heavy on them as they were driving down the road, and my sister and I both got the biscuit and gravy breakfast. The odd thing I noticed is the way we all got our eggs done. My dad and I both got scrambled, and my sister and mom both got over medium......kinda weird...but we're not exactly a normal type family anyways....at least that's what they keep telling me...or maybe they just mean I'm the abnormal one? My dad was only gonna leave the waitress a $2 tip when she was really good and they were out of hot chocolate so she made me a coffee with chocolate syrup and whipped cream. I shamed him into leaving her a $4 tip. My dad for whatever reason still thinks that we're living in the 60's or something where gratuity is like 10%. Anyways whatever....I think they plan on stopping in Amarillo tonight....they'll call me whenever they stop for the night so I know they're safe. My sister however has them calling her every time they stop somewhere. I'm not that anal about it. They're like 81 years old...whatever happens, happens.

Oh goodie goodie....we have friends. Well....we have one that we see occasionally, but there's one that we haven't seen in over a year due to jobs and scheduling stuff. But he has some time after he gets off of work this afternoon so he and our other friend James are gonna pick up some pizzas and come over to hang out for a while before Henry has to go to work tonight. Soooooo fun!
I ate a good breakfast, so I'm gonna make my tropical smoothie for lunch. Hehehe yummy yummy.
