Marvel superhero powers?

Homebrew and House Rules

Hi, I'm looking to create marvel superhero/villain powers, I searched and didn't really find anything related on the messageboards except a speedster base class. I was hoping we could start a thread for things to try to emulate their powers and make them into spells/psionics etc. Any help would be awesome.

I am on my phone so no link but have you looked up any of the avengers threads?

This is something that's pretty hard to do without house-ruling things pretty substantially. Quite frankly, Pathfinder isn't very good for it. If other game systems are an option, try Aberrant. It's exactly what you are looking for - super-hero powers with things that are close enough to magic/psychic abilities that you can pretend to be The Hulk, Magneto, Superman - whomever.

If you are set on Pathfinder, consider granting effects like Bull's Strength, Expeditious Retreat, Cat's Grace and the like as permanent effects, and giving them spells like Telekinesis as spell-like abilities. Let them really get those stat scores up there. Possibly a 40 or 50 point buy.

There are plenty of good super hero based rpg games out there. Take a look at Mutants and Masterminds or Palladium Heroes Unlimited. I think I remember seeing a Marvel rpg at a book store once. No real reason to recreate the wheel when someone else has already done the work.

Well i'm not really looking to create mutants per se, I just think a lot of their powers would make good spells. I.e magneto's magnetic orb thing is pretty close to a monster ability I saw the other day in one of the bestiaries.

Ah, I was imagining you creating a marvel campaign from Pathfinder, which would be quite difficult. If anything comes to me, I'll let you know.

OP: if you 're looking for a super power role playing game in a d20 setup, you really should be looking at Mutants and Masterminds, or the new Marvel game that's out. You're looking to mix two genres that really don't play together very well.

Thanks but no, I just wanted to make some spells that do similar things, I'm not looking to actually have mutants, I encourage the creation of custom spells in my campaigns and thought this would be good inspiration to my players who want to do so, if I could give them examples other than typical d&d stuff.
