Oath of Vengeance and Dieties

Silver Crusade

Are the deities listed with Oath of Vengeance required deities or suggested deities?

I ask because I have a Dawnflower Dervish/Paladin build that I want to use for PFS and whether I build her as a Melee monster or a healer with some effective offense depends on whether a worshiper of Sarenrae can take an Oath of Vengeance (which I understand seems a little off as Sarenrae is written).

Thanks in advance.

Under the oathbound paladin listing for the deities, it says:

Some oaths are especially compatible with the faiths of certain deities; these deities are listed here. Other deities may allow these oaths as well, though only rarely do deities allow oaths conflicting with their teachings.

An example is the Paizo iconic cleric, Kyra. She essentially forgoes vengeance to embrace the tenets of her faith in Sarenrae.

Personally, if I were your GM, I wouldn't allow you to mix worship of Sarenrae and an Oath of Vengeance.

well I'm torn between vengeance and hospitaler, but it is legal in PFS which is my main concern.

I think I'm still going to go hospitaler, but I wanted options.

d'oh, where's my manners, thank you for your reply.

Best to check with your GM. In Rise of the Runelords, I play a Paladin of Sarenrae with Oath of Vengeance. While her tenets are redemption etc, she does have a side of her faith where those beyond redemption meet fiery justice. We've played this as a faction or order within the faith. If you come to the table with something more than just a mechanical want, your GM might be more open to the idea.
