Drunken Master Halfling monk

Advice

I want to build a drunken master halfling monk whose personal life is kind of a mess. I might even throw in a pesh addiction. I like the idea of serious character flaws.

My question is how do I justify this behavior as lawful? I'm going for LN alignment.

Sovereign Court

Give him a low WIS score. He may have the best of intentions.. but his logic in making decisions isn't quite all there...

Thanks. Hope GM buys it. Makes sense to me. Disciplined in fighting and training, but socially undisciplined.

Not every lawful character is as strict about their ethos as a paladin. Being lawful is a tendency, and doesn't mean you can't have deep character flaws.

Your character could still be lawful in a lot of ways - he could be honest, loyal, and strict about a lot of things, while still having a messed up life, addictions, etc.

This doesn't even have to be a symptom of a low wisdom score, either: knowing how to fix your problems and actually fixing them are two very different things. For example, I know very well that I should probably be in bed right now, as I have to get up early to hit the gym - but here I am anyway. ^__^

Could follow Cayden Cailean as a drunken master halfling, that might be kinda fun. Always thought alchemist and drunken master might be fun, especially if you could talk the gm into making alcoholic potions. Dunno how well that would work with lawful though. Hmm. Fun character concept!
