I would think the issue is more obvious. Gen Con Housing block + motocross DB (or gp, cant remember atm) = no rooms for actual attendees. considering that taking a 160$ loss rather than show up and praying someone somewhere's got room for me, my wife, and two others riding there with me, compared to the $1000 dollars I spent at the convention last year, and 4 years running before that, I would think it amounts to a little more of an issue than giving $40 buck to gen con.
Maybe those mototools taking advantage of gen con would be willing to balance that income out while theyre down there?
