How would you build Jenassa from Skyrim?

Conversions

All,

I was playing a bit of Skyrim this weekend. I'd never hired Jenassa, so she was a new experience. She seems to be, in Pathfinder terms, some kind of spell-less Ranger or something. She sneaks around, uses bows, dual wields, prefers to sneak up on things, and looks cool in all black leather armor, following my Khajit around in stealth mode.

So for those of you who play Skyrim, how would you build her in Pathfinder? She seems to favor dual blades, but mixes it up with the bow pretty frequently, and she loves stealth and places to hide outdoors.

Just wondering.

Thanks!

Well, my Orc fell in love with Jenassa, and she's been his constant companion for well over 60 hours of the 100 hour journey. She almost swooned when he asked her to marry him! She's not a girl for every guy, it's true, but for a blind-but-still-sees, Daedra-touched, cold blooded Orc, she's the perfect girl for him. I would definitely build her as a Rogue into Assassin, focusing on ranged combat skills, and taking a full dose of Use Magic Device. (It may be how I have her set up, I make sure to never give her a melee weapon, and I have her with a Daedric Bow I crafted and doubly enchanted for her). I gave her the Sanguine Rose, so she summons her own Daedra for our big fights. She definitely isn't a good-hearted person. She definitely is stealthy, can pick locks, and can use any magic staff I give her. So in genral terms, yeah, I think Rogue into Assassin is definitely the route I'd go if I were going to truly build Jenassa. Assassin because when you haven't hired her yet and you talk to her, she talks about killing as an art form.

sounds like a switch hitter rogue to me, also this may be a better topic for the conversions section i think.

Thanks for the replies! I am not sure what a switch-hitter rogue is but I will do a search. I dont view as Jenassa as evil, just as an amoral mercenary. So my good characters get along with her fine. :)

I just realized that I could always make a Drow with the Cavern Sniper racial Fighter Archetype, and go with bows instead of crossbows (which is allowed). I could then take the racial trait that drops dark vision and light sensitivity and picks up Low Light vision, simply because Jenassa doesnt seem to have light sensitivity.

I could also be a Half Elf with the Drow Blooded and Drow Magic alternate race traits and the Half Drow Paragon Feat, if I prefer +2 to one stat instead of +2dex/+2cha/-2Con. Of course the only problem there is that Jenassa doesnt seem to have the light sensitivity.

make her a ninja

This should help you. The cliff notes is that she is a switch hitting (bows and TWF) ranger. I would personally take rogue 4/ ranger x till you decide to go assassin. She is neutral definitely as she doesn't seem to care either way on the good/evil scale. But she has her own code that she refuses to violate it seems, however she is far from lawful as she will kill guards. I would make her either TN or CN with a bloodthirsty that borders on evil. Dark Elf is your race, and stat wise you want 18 (+2 racial) dex and a 16 (flat) str. The rest is up to you depending on point buy.

1)ranger TWF
2)ranger rapid shot (fighting style)
3)rogue quick draw
4)rogue weapon focus (from rogue talent)
5)rogue double slice
6)rogue point blank shot (rogue talent)
7)ranger precise shot

Where ever your heart desires from there. Make sure you take 2W rend and many shot. You will have 2d6 sneak attack, 2d6 from your swords, and as many d6s from rend as you have TWF feats.

Wow thanks! I will check that out!

I like the Rogue/Ranger approach, but I dont think I want to go with Evil, so I can't be an Assassin. Still, the other stuff above is awesome for proceeding with that type of build.

Gracias!

One more thing. What did you mean by "and as many d6s from rend as you have TWF feats"?

I see that two weapon fighting feats keep giving me more off hand attacks and such, but two-weapon rend mentions a d10 and says it only applies once a round.

Thanks!

You really don't need a PrC with this one. You will be a trapfinding, tracking dual wielding switch hitter of doom! Plenty of skills to invest in stealth, survival, disable device, and perception with skills to spare. Leave your dex where it is, and pump the heck out of your str. If you end up with more than a 10pt buy game favor wis > con to bump your low will but keep con a close second. I wouldn't dump int, leave it at 10 at least, cha won't do a whole lot for you unless you want to go the dazzling display route (which doesn't for the role play aspect to much).

My bad, I was channeling 3.5 days.

What about Con though? If I build this for our game, we are lucky enough to get a 25 point buy. So I could spend 10 points for STR 16 and 5 points for CON 12 (due to the -2 from being Drow). Then for Dex I could spend 10 points for an 18 Dex (due to Drow +2) but .... CON 12 seems a bit low for someone that could be on the front lines on a semi-regular basis.

I might instead go with DEX 17, which would only cost me 7 points (including racial) and then go with CHA 10 (which for a Drow costs -2 points due to their bonus) and so I would therefore save 5 points. That'd let me spend 10 on Con instead of 5, giving me an effective 14 CON.

I think that would be safer. Then at level 4 I would pump Dex, and then pump STR from there.

Sounds like you are ready to rock.

Str: 16 (10)
Dex: 17 (7)
Con: 12 (5)
Int: 10
Wis: 12 (2)
Cha: 12

Just put your points per lvl in hit points. Take toughness later on if needed.
