Though I know that it was already mentioned earlier in another thread, I wanted to make a personal mention of something starting today...
Back up a few years and it is 2010 and Steve Russell of Rite Publishing is asking me if I wanted to write up some material for inclusion in this little project called Coliseum Morpheuon, an adventure and campaign setting combined. Due to one thing or another, the project had reached an impasse and Steve needed the adventure finished and finished quickly. I said sure and then received the files that were, to that point, done for the book.
What I received was a hodge-podge of essays, locales, some new rules, and a plethora of high-powered, gonzo NPCs that had already been created. The actual adventure was, at that point, only the barest of outlines. Fast forward a couple of days and I had gone from volunteering to writing some filler, to taking over the project and agreeing to finish the book. I started out doing editorial work on the campaign world, cleaning up what was there, arranging it in a sensible order, and filling in what was missing. When that was done, I turned my attention to the actual adventure writing. For a couple of months, work on Coliseum Morpheuon occupied all of my free time, but, in the end, it was a blast to write and a privilege to have been entrusted with the completion of the end product. If I were to never work on any other adventure, I could point to Coliseum Morpheuon and say, “I have been told its one of the best adventures ever written for high level play.” (Not that the field is that huge mind you, but being king of a small pond is still rather nice.)
Well, to make a long story shorter, Coliseum Morpheuon continues to live on still today, and not just as an adventure. There was the anthology of short fiction that Steve published for it and I was privileged to have the first story in that collection. More than that, Ben McFarland, Clinton Boomer (whose idea the whole thing was in the first place), and Matt Banach all collaborated together on a supplemental adventure for the setting, “The Rabbit Hole;” and Matt Banach has also worked with Justin Sluder to write about 27 (!) more gonzo NPCs for use with Coliseum in their “Faces of the Tarnished Souk” series.
We now come to the next step in Coliseum's journey.
Matt Banach is going to write a novel for the setting of Dream and the Kickstarter begins starting today! (Actually I think it managed to get started last night, but it was scheduled for today.)
That's right! A whole novel set in the dreamlands, the realm of the Coliseum. On a personal level it is very gratifying to know that a world I helped fashion is going to have its own novel and I think it goes without saying that I'm going to be supporting it here very soon. But personal feelings aside, it's fantastic whenever there are well written novels that tie in with our hobby and I think it would be great to see all of you also supporting this endeavor also. I know that there are a lot of kickstarters going on, and more everyday, and that money is tight for many of us. But this project is special to Rite Publishing; it's kinda' novel (heh) for a kickstarter, and Steve and Matt aren't looking for millions in funding (not but that I'm sure but that they would take any millions you want to throw their way). I am confident that Matt is going to produce a story that is fun to read and opens up the world of dream just a little bit more for all of us. So please chip in something if you can.
Thanks!

Lost In Dream: a Kickstarter novel, is now 50% to goal! Woot! Happy Dance of joy! $1,260 of $2,500 with 26 days still to go.
A question for the board, what makes you interested or disinterested in singing up for our first novel?
Happy Dance of joy? Singing up for your first novel? Is this novel a musical? Or are there plans for a musical in the works? I hope that we don't have to sing to get the book!
Seriously, though, you asked, "what makes you interested in signing up for our first novel.
First, the fact that you are calling this your first novel. Implying that if it does well, there could be more in the future. I am a Pathfinder Tales subscriber because I want to support quality fantasy novel publishers, and I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is. I am signing up because if I don't and the book doesn't happen, there won't be any future books and that would make me sad.
Second, I was given a copy of Coliseum Morpheuon by my players to run when the party gets to a high enough level. I have truly enjoyed reading that book. I love that GM's are encouraged to play with the realm of dreams. Put blue squirrels in the forests. Have a room where gravity is reversed, but things still fall up to the floor when the PC's drop them. Do other weird stuff to mess with the PC's heads. This leads to my next reason:
ANYTHING can happen in the realm of dreams, and this creates a unique place where a writer can have literally anything happen in his/her story, even without bringing magic into the picture.
Third, I'm a nice guy and I like books.
If I think of any more good reasons, I'll post more later.

Glad to see you on board, [b]Thanael]/b]! I too, hope that this one funds.
Obliquely related story:
I just finished reading Alice in Wonderland to my three year old. He enjoyed it, though much of it was over his head. One of the things I have always loved about that book is how wacky everything is, and the large number of puns and plays on words throughout the book.
Just about anything can, and does happen. The Cheshire Cat vanishes and reappears. When Alice tells him, " I wish you wouldn't keep appearing and vanishing so suddenly: you make one quite giddy." He instead vanishes slowly, starting at the tail. Awesome! Lewis Carroll would have made a great GM.
All that to say that based on today's update, it looks like this book has the potential to have just as much wackiness, which I think is a good thing.
