Black Tentacles and (Su) abilities.

Can you do things like Shift (Su) out of black tentacles without a concentration check etc?

Concentration checks only apply to spells in Pathfinder. SU's are powerful because they can bypass many of the things that spells deal with.

In other words Black Tentacles loses this battle. :)

Supernatural abilities are awesome because they're very hard to stop.

Take channeled positive energy for example.

You could have a cleric, grappled by black tentacles on a ship in a hurricane being tossed about on the waves, while being threatened by 100 men and on fire.

That cleric can still channel positive energy, no AoO and no concentration check.
