I'm starting a campaign soon and need some help building a highly optimized character. My DM throws rough stuff at us and has resulted in our group having to optimize to survive. I was thinking of going the mounted barbarian route. Level 7, giving us 80 pts to put into stats, 8 min 18 max. I've been thinking of taking a level in Oracle with Battle mystery then going Mounted Fury/Totem Warrior/Invulnerable Rager. I figure I would dual wield lances and just destroy things with a charge, then use Surprising Charge from the Battle mystery to do it again the next turn. I was contemplating going halfling for the medium sized mount. Not sure on feats or rage powers or anything, just wondering if anyone out there has had some practice with optimizing a barbarian as a shock trooper like this, or maybe if there's a better way to go with a barbarian to optimize damage? Any help would be appreciated, i've hit a roadblock in character creation.

I don't know about multi classing into oracle, but if the campaign has enough room for it, I would suggest the mammoth rider prestige class. Earliest entry is level 10 but it has some great synergy with the mounted fury.
Huge mammoth (there are other options, but I like them best) and if you take the beast totem line and the rage powers that are focused towards the mount it gets claw attacks alongside its normal natural attacks while you are using your lances.

This character isn't mounted, but its the best Barbarian I've ever seen or built.
If you're going to go with a mounted character, we're running Second Darkness right now and one of the players has made a standard Summoner who takes 1 level of Fighter and uses his Eidolon as a mount. The results have been VERY impressive between the buff spells he can cast, his use of the orc bloodline via Eldritch Heritage feats and the bonuses the two give one another. Might be something to consider.
