Is sneak attack damage doubled with a lance?

Rules Questions

I was wondering if there had been any faqs on what all is doubled. From how I read it, all damage is doubled(or tripled with spirited charge). Sneak attack damage is done with the lance, so that would be included.

The scout archetype allows you to do sneak attack when charging, so I was planning on building a mounted rogue. Triple sneak attack damage sounds pretty fun, 9d6 damage at level 5. After the 4th level I would switch to something more useful like an alchemist or vivisectionist.

If this all works, how would I treat abilities based on my sneak attack dice? Is that tripled as well?

Precision damage is never doubled/multiplied.

My gut tells me that sneak attack (precision) damage isn't multiplied like you're asking about. My feeling is mainly based, however, on it not being multiplied on other things such as Critical Hits.

By RAW, I can't think of an argument offhand but then again this is me so just having me not talking about succubi or +2 longswords is a pretty rare moment.

Sneak Attack damage is precision damage that is only multiplied when an ability specifically says so. Just like with crits sneak attack damage shouldn't be double, or tripled, on a charge.

Nope. It is not.

Would a flaming lance do double flame damage on a charge?

From what I have seen, very little doubles dynamic (dice based) extra damage on weapons.

I am not sure on the answer for this, but my guess would be that it would not be doubled.

No it would not. Additional damage die outside of the base weapon die are never multiplied.

From the PRD:

"Multiplying Damage: Sometimes you multiply damage by some factor, such as on a critical hit. Roll the damage (with all modifiers) multiple times and total the results.

Note: When you multiply damage more than once, each multiplier works off the original, unmultiplied damage. So if you are asked to double the damage twice, the end result is three times the normal damage.

Exception: Extra damage dice over and above a weapon's normal damage are never multiplied."

Rule of thumb static mods double, dice don't so smite/challenge are better than sneak attack (unless using sap master, sap adept, knockouts).

Not with a lance, maybe. So use a ballista instead.

Source? the only thing I can find is " Should the rogue score a critical hit with a sneak attack, this extra damage is not multiplied."

Which has nothing to do with the lance special ability to do double damage on a charge.

See my post above, or for reference check here.

Ah, sad to see. Was looking forward to making a rogue thats good.

oh man the rogue thing again, I would totally rage but hold on I'm going to go make a sandwich first.

Funnily enough I once persuaded my gm to allow me to create a training lance (1d4 bludgeoning) so I could lance sneak attack sap adept, as the sap adept, sap master as the sap adept damage (2 per sneak die) is flat it multiplies so my level 15 lancer rogue was a monster.

I am going to channel my rage in your direction, please focus it like a laser.
