As a story reward for my friend's oracle, Ornella, I created this spell for as as representation of her discovering the source of her powers, the demigod Rahjeet, king of all Djinn.
Celestial Bolt (or Rahjeet's Holy Lightning)
School: Evocation, Level: Ornella 2
Casting Time: Standard Action
Components V, S
Range: 30 ft
Duration: Instantaneous.
Saving Throw: Reflex (see text)
A bolt of electricity blessed by the Lord of Storms, when used against undead targets (or other creature with negative energy affinity), it deals 1d4 damage per caster level (max 5d4). Half of this damage is electric damage and half is positive energy.
When used against living targets, it heals 1d4 damage per caster level (max 5d4).
Never made a spell before. AS it is currently, this spell heals/deals 5-20 points of damage at a range of 30 feet. Cure Moderate Wounds heals/deals 7-31 damage and has a range of touch. Does this seem balanced enough? Since the Oracle isn't a prepared caster, there will never be a situation where she's only preparing one of them.

It is supposed to be a line effect coming from the oracle's hand, stopping at whoever or whatever it first hits. I did neglect to say that. It's only supposed to have one target.
We only use the primary books; Core, Ultimate series, etc. Not Inner Sea, setting-specific stuff. I feel like there has to be a term for that already.

If that's the case, then why not just have it as a ranged touch attack rather than a line? The only reason I can think of is for the reflex save as opposed to just avoiding it by having a high touch AC.
