Hi,
I'm in the middle of a PF campaign. My group of 3 4th level PCs are heading toward Nadsokor in the Young Kingdoms.
They were escorting a caravan trade in the middle of a desert and were caught by a Lizard, Giant Frilled (PF Bestiary pg 194).
The Giant Lizard is now dead as the other half of the caravan merchants. I would like to add some beef to this encounter and let join 4 or 5 Inix so as to continue a little bit the fight.
What I've got is the 4th edition data for the Inix (Dark Sun Creature Catalog pg 69). There are some illustrations on the Web. It helps to figure out what It's look likes : http://www.mattdixon.co.uk/blog/Inix.jpg
The issue is that I can't find the 3.5 or PF data for this kind of animal. Furthermore I do not know very well the Dark Sun world and as far as I remember the world was detailed in 2nd or 4th editions.
If anyone could help it would be glad for my 3 PF players ;o).
I can't link to the 4th edition stats since they are not readily available on the Internet. This is a short summary :
Inix Juvenile, level 4 skirmisher
Initiative +5 / Perception +4 Speed 8
HP 57 AC 18 Fortitude 17 Reflex 15 Will 16
STD Action : Bite (poison) +8 vs. AC / 1d6+3 damage +5 poison damage
Minor Action : Tail trip +7 vs. Fortitude (Inix shift 1 + target is prone, no damages)
STR 17 DEX 13 WIS 14 CON 17 INT 2 CHA 6
No alignment.
Is there a conversion guide for creatures from 4th D&D edition to PathFinder ? It could help in the long run.
Thanks Everybody.
Excuse my English, I'm French ...

You'd probably be well-served to start with the saltwater crocodile's stats. It's got the essentials - Improved Grab, a tail slap, and huge size - inix are bigger than horses but smaller than mellikots, so I'd say Huge would be the appropriate size category. You'd want to get rid of death roll, hold breath, and lunging bite. I'd probably change out its feats for something like... oh, Endurance, Power Attack, and maybe something wacky like Improved Overrun.
As I recall the original inix didn't have a poisonous bite.

Ok I'm buying it ! Thanks !
Instead of the Crocodile, Saltwater stats I'll use the Crocodile stats. The idea is to conform with 5 CR2 creatures in the mix (the APL is 3, 4 x 3 /3 minus 1). The idea is to put Juvenile Inix(es). Juvenile that just hatched minutes before. The PCs will probably be puzzled to see gelatinous fluids around the neck of the newly born predators. Eventually they will probably catch the eggs. No maternal instinct in the reptilian realms and fortunately the mother will be away.
My idea is to make it clear for the PCs that they're now in the wastelands, lost in a sand desert. I would like also to kill one or two more camels and merchants that are part of the caravan. Leaving them with a dilemma : Do we have to leave behind the goods since there is no one to help carry this with us ?
I'm skipping the Crocodile feats and I'm taking instead the three you've indicated Endurance, Power Attack and Improved Overrun. No poisonous bite, the question stays pending. Anyway they are too young to develop their potential poisonous glands yet.
This will start the next session, Inix(es) Juvenile looking for their first meal.
A note in passing : the party started in SIGIL and months before they already have a glimpse into an Athas-like world in a Arena deep in the underground market of the City of Doors. They attended to a pit fight that was set through a portal. One of the gladiator was an Inix, it escaped from the portal boundaries and they saved everybody from death by defeating the said foe. And then they forget. This will make the connection with the current story (at 1st sight uncorrelated at all), they know from where the Inix are coming from. Moreover the merchant NPC that run the forbidden by law arena (found of human skin bags and who have a seat in the City Council) may be related to someone in Nadsokor ...
I'll give you a feedback on how things worked at the table.
Regards.

Here is the feedback.
The encounter was quite well paced. The party was initially surprised by the 6 Inix Juvenile (finally 6 of them).
The Improved Overrun feat prevented any AO. In fact we didn't use battlemaps so that was strategic feeling instead of mathematics.
The ranger did spot the nest of the newly borns but failed to know what to do with poisonous liquid. In the end 90% of the merchant caravan was dead, leaving the party nearly alone in the wilderness ...

You are correct that Dark Sun was first published in 2nd edition. I still have the original box set so I can give you the stat's as listed in the original book (converting them to their applicable stats in 3.5/PF).
Sadly I do not have the 3.5 stat's anywhere.
Inix
Neutral, Animal
Number Appearing: 1-2
AC: 16
Movement: 40'
Hit Dice: 6
BAB: +5
Attacks: +5 Bite (1d8) / +5 Tail SLap (1d6)
Size: Huge
Special Attacks: On an attack roll of a natural 20 with their bite they can grasp man sized or smaller oppponents and do an additional 1d20 points of crushing damage.
Note: Their shells are useful for making breastplate armor and their scaly underbellies can be used to make high Mastercrafted leather armor.
Hope this helps out. Sadly 2.0 did not have individual stats (Strength, Dex, etc.) for the creatures. I would do as suggested previously and start with Alligator or Crocodile stats and then modify for huge size or juvenile as needed.
I have the 3.5 web supplement for Dark Sun but it has no creature stats in it. All it contains pertains to characters.
