You'd probably be well-served to start with the saltwater crocodile's stats. It's got the essentials - Improved Grab, a tail slap, and huge size - inix are bigger than horses but smaller than mellikots, so I'd say Huge would be the appropriate size category. You'd want to get rid of death roll, hold breath, and lunging bite. I'd probably change out its feats for something like... oh, Endurance, Power Attack, and maybe something wacky like Improved Overrun.
As I recall the original inix didn't have a poisonous bite.
Ok I'm buying it ! Thanks !
Instead of the Crocodile, Saltwater stats I'll use the Crocodile stats. The idea is to conform with 5 CR2 creatures in the mix (the APL is 3, 4 x 3 /3 minus 1). The idea is to put Juvenile Inix(es). Juvenile that just hatched minutes before. The PCs will probably be puzzled to see gelatinous fluids around the neck of the newly born predators. Eventually they will probably catch the eggs. No maternal instinct in the reptilian realms and fortunately the mother will be away.
My idea is to make it clear for the PCs that they're now in the wastelands, lost in a sand desert. I would like also to kill one or two more camels and merchants that are part of the caravan. Leaving them with a dilemma : Do we have to leave behind the goods since there is no one to help carry this with us ?
I'm skipping the Crocodile feats and I'm taking instead the three you've indicated Endurance, Power Attack and Improved Overrun. No poisonous bite, the question stays pending. Anyway they are too young to develop their potential poisonous glands yet.
This will start the next session, Inix(es) Juvenile looking for their first meal.
A note in passing : the party started in SIGIL and months before they already have a glimpse into an Athas-like world in a Arena deep in the underground market of the City of Doors. They attended to a pit fight that was set through a portal. One of the gladiator was an Inix, it escaped from the portal boundaries and they saved everybody from death by defeating the said foe. And then they forget. This will make the connection with the current story (at 1st sight uncorrelated at all), they know from where the Inix are coming from. Moreover the merchant NPC that run the forbidden by law arena (found of human skin bags and who have a seat in the City Council) may be related to someone in Nadsokor ...
I'll give you a feedback on how things worked at the table.
Regards.
