concept: A summoner with two small eidolens, one of which he's synthesized with.
1) Playing a gnome; a small character
2) synthesized with a small eidolon ("The eidolon must be at least the same size as the synthesist.")
3) "At 2nd level, instead of a single eidolon, a broodmaster summons two Small eidolons to his side."
If this isn't allowed by the rules (and technically I don't think it is, since both archetypes change the same feature of the original), then I'd like advice on what might make this reasonable and fair.

Just to push the envelope, what about
1) a small character
2) with two small eidolens
3) both of which he can synthesize with
4) but not at the same time?
It seems underpowered to me, because not only are his eidolens weaker than that of a normal summoner, but he can't even call upon both at the same time. The benefit I would be getting from this would be some degree of character flexibility.
I.e. If I wanted to sneak, I could fuse with the Eidolen with higher dex, and the evolution for +8 to stealth. If I wanted to fight, I might have another form (which would still be suboptimal because both eidolens would have to be small sized, at -4 penalty to strength).
Would you allow it in your game?

I don't believe that the synthesist's 4rth level Shielded Meld (Ex) and the broodmaster's shield ally (Ex) are at odds with one another. They just wouldn't stack. The same will apply the the "Greater" version of these at 12th level.
At 6th level, I'd tie Maker's Call and Maker's Jump to the same pool of uses per day, but make no changes beyond that.
Any objections? Would that be fair, or is there some double dipping going on?
One reason I feel justified with this merger is because of how the summoner's Merge Form parallel's the synthesist's Split Forms. If those are opposites, then I'd look to the opposite of the broodmaster's Merge Form to look at how a synthesist variant of it might look.
