Beast-Bonded Witch + Astral Projection + Gate?

Rules Questions

So I noticed something while I was looking around for interesting optimizations for an upcoming campaign.

The Witch has an archetype called "Beast-Bonded" and at level 10 if the witch dies his soul moves into his familiar where the two co-exist. Either one can take control, but they share the body.

Now: Astral projection says that it projects an astral body into the astral sea. The thing where this gets interesting is where it says that when the character enters a plane connected to the Astral-Sea.

"Since the Astral Plane touches upon other planes, you can travel astrally to any of these other planes as you will. To enter one, you leave the Astral Plane, forming a new physical body (and equipment) on the plane of existence you have chosen to enter."

Now it is just a simple step of casting Gate to get back to the material plane.

I wonder if this is legal, and if so I wonder how many people are going to use it for Villains/Heroes.

It doesn't work that way. You use Gate to go back to your home plane, you wind up connecting back to your physical body.

If you're going to argue RAW, I would reply since RAW does not handle this case, home rule is the only way to answer it. I don't need to cheese my party's opposition to make them challenging.

Of course this is also suggesting that the character in question cannot cast raise dead + Restoration.

I am seeing if I can find ways to create equivalence between elements. There are far cheaper ways to do things in the system. The interesting thing is finding out how to do the same thing differently.

Simply reviving someone is easy. Taking a long, round-a-bout route is different, harder, probably costs more, however it is more AWESOME.

Plus if a DM was to start cheesing the party's opposition it would be more effective to use temporal anomalies/distortions where monsters/villains become recursive. The party kills big-bad only for big-bad to reappear somewhere else in the room, but from a different time. Remember, time is all wibbly wobbly timey wimey.
