Eidolon ability increase evolution

The way I'm reading this, if at 1st level, the summoner has 4 evo points(3 from lvl 1 and 1 from extra evo feat), he can choose the ability increase evolution twice, but they MUST be applied to 2 different scores(ie str and dex). Only upon attaining 6th level, could the ability increase evo be applied again to the str or dex score.
