Oh man, I've been wanting to know more about how these three relate since that relationship was revealed.
I have to imagine Ragathiel's relationship with his mother is a bit healthier than with his father. He might resent/worry about her continued civil relationship with Dispater, but I don't figure he'd reject her for it.
As for the nature of his birth...been wondering about that for a long time. Half devil/half-fire elemental...if he inherited his initial nature from his parents it could have been a number of things.(N, NE, LE, and LN?) Or maybe he inherited some of the last bit of whatever decency may reside in Dispater's heart(he is seen as the most "decent" of the archdevils, though that's using "decent' very loosely). It really isn't clear on whether he was "born bad", "born good", or "born meh". So many ways it could go.
I'd never considered the possibility of Ragathiel spending his early childhood in Hell. Or perhaps part of it was spent on the Plane of Fire. Maybe living abroad played a part in his upwards direction.
Huh...Sarenrae. Goddess of fire and redemption...tied into a culture big on genies...genies come from the elemental planes....Sarenrae and her heralds might visit from time to time....maybe she and Feronia met once while Ragathiel was young?
On another angle, did Ragathiel's moving towards/being Good result in his falling out with his father, or was that falling out what kickstarted his redemption?
Maybe we'll find out more solid details in Chronicles of the Righteous next year. :)
