Advanced Animate Dream

Rules Questions

So, can anyone give me a decent reason why the Advanced Animate Dream has a CMD of 36?

Or for that matter why a regular Animate Dream has a CMD of 32?

It looks like they literally just doubled their CMB.

Looking at their traits and qualities, their outsider type, their extraplanar and incorporeal subtypes, and the incorporeal special quality don't answer the question.

They should have a BAB of +12 (they do).

They should have a CMB (and general attack) of +16 base animate dream or +18 advanced due to being incorporeal and using their dexterity score instead of their strength (they do).

They should have a CMD of of 26 base animate dream or 28 advanced (equal to their CMB+10) based on their ability scores (they lack a STR score) and the CMD calculations ... or possibly of 30 base animate dream or 32 advanced (equal to their base attack + twice DEX + 10) if you replace each instance of "STR" with "DEX", but that isn't justified in the rules, and it doesn't add up anyway.

So... where does that +8 (or +2, if you're using the non-RAW version I showed) come from?

Oh wow. Exactly 12:20 and it can't be deleted now.

Welp, I answered my own question.

In the CMD section no less! They add their +1 dodge bonus (from their feat) and their +6/+7 deflection bonus (from their CHA-based AC due to being incorporeal) to their CMD.

Ugh. Sorry, all.
