Ring of Continuation + Share Spell

Rules Questions

Can a Ring of Continuation be used in conjunction with the animal companion Share Spell ability?

Is your animal companion wearing the ring? Because as far as I know, if your companion moves outside a certain distance from you, the Shared Spell is no longer effective...

But this ring may make it last longer if the companion was wearing it. Good question.

Ah, I was talking about how Share Spell allows you to cast spells with a range of "you" to be cast on your familiar instead. From the Wizard Familiar section:

Quote:
Share Spells: The wizard may cast a spell with a target of “You” on his familiar (as a touch spell) instead of on himself. A wizard may cast spells on his familiar even if the spells do not normally affect creatures of the familiar's type (magical beast).

Ahh, your first post said animal companion, which has different spell sharing rules than wizard familiar.

If the familiar is not wearing the Ring of Continuation, then it has no affect. It would only affect spells cast upon the person or creature wearing it.
