Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Inquisitor

Advice

So I want to make an Inquisitor of the Castlevania persuasion.
Specifically from the Lords of Shadow game.

So I was looking for help on the build (being a whip/spike chain user) and most specifically the Combat Cross.

What feats should I take? Should I go more Dex or Str based?

Should I build the Combat Cross like a whip or spike chain? Or is there a way to make a type of hybrid?

I'm new to the Pathfinder rules so don't super know how to get it done.

Any help would be amazing!

Something that uses the Star Knife weapon (large 4 pointed shuriken) flavored as a cross. I would say Dex with weapon Finesse. Whip can be finessed.

Deities to consider would be:
Calistria: trickery, Lust, Revenge; Chaotic Neutral; Favored Weapon: Whip

Desna: Dreams, Starts, Travelers, Luck; Chaotic Good; Favored Weapon: Starkife (could maybe be flavored as cross)

Zon-Kuthon: Envy, Pain, Darkness, Loss; Lawful Evil; Favored Weapon: Spiked Chain

Lissala: Fate, Duty, Knowledge; Lawful Evil; Favored Weapon: whip

(for the LE alignments you could be LN and still worship unless you dont mind being evil)

Consider the "Vampire Hunter" Archetype

Yeah was looking at Weapon Finesse for sure. Especially with the whip. So was feeling like leaning more Dex based.

Thanks for the Deity help!! Calistria with a Revenge backstory might work.

Are there any good whip/spike chain feats I need to get?

*bump for more input*

IF you didn't want calistria, the half orc race, with the "city raised" race feature would give you longsword and whip as free weapon proficiencies. You would be trading out that for losing orc double axe, falchion and great axe.

For whip feats you would need weapon focus whip and the whip mastery feat chain from UC.

So you are looking at about 4 ish feats to get good with it.

Depending on your build, could take you up to 5-7th level to get where you are 'happy' with whipping stuff, however, there are ways to make it happen ok before you get the full feat string.

Like using scorpion whip and staying out of melee range while using it.

You can also keep a back up weapon like a dagger, sword, or star knife in the off hand. As long as you dont try to use them in the same round for an extra attack. It's ok.

So on round 1, whip, round 2 someone closes with you, don't use whip but use the other weapon in the other hand. If no one is close to you in round 3, you can use whip again. That is until you get all the feats, then whip away.

Awesome thanks for the input!!

Also, when I say "whip" I'm talking about the Combat Cross, which is this http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Combat_Cross

Is there a way I can work that out? Somehow combine aspects of a whip and spike chain?

Or am I going to have to creat an weapon from scratch?

the kusarigama from Ultimate combat reskinned as a cross rather than a sickle will do the trick better than a spiked chain me thinks.

I think it's supposed to function like a whip so I would use that as a base and flavor it as metal. I'm unsure if spiked chain will work with the feats mentioned. Also Pendagast's suggestion could also work, but as mentioned with spiked chain, think of the feats and just ask the GM if he thinks a reskin of a whip, spiked chain, or the Kusarigama.

Hmmm, that might work. You have been most helpful!

Yeah I was looking at treating like a whip but with spiked chain damage. Still keep the disarm, reach and trip. Maybe pull feats from both weapon types. But yeah looks like more discussion with the GM is gonna have to take place.

scorpion whip would be a metal bladed or spiked whip

Oh right forgot you mentioned the scorpion whip!!

Another possible reskin.
