Burning Characters Will Hurt You?

Rules Questions

Does a character suffering from burning become a hazard to allies trying to help him with touch?

The only part about touching in the Burn description says, "Creatures that hit a burning creature with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the burning creature and must make a Reflex save to avoid catching on fire."

So, is everything else fair game? Say, like a Paladin ally using Lay on Hands?

Oh, and the part, "Creatures that hit a burning creature with natural weapons or unarmed attacks take fire damage as though hit by the burning creature...".

What damage "as though hit" are we talking about here?

Seeing that this is under the entry for "Burn" in the Universal Monster Rules, I think the references to the "burning creature" are meaning the creature that has the "burn" ability.

If so, that means that if you punch a fire elemental, you take the fire damage that's normally associated with said elemental's slam attack (but not the slam damage) and then make a reflex save or catch fire.

Oh yeah, you're correct. I was thinking the other way around and was like, "Huh?!?"

That's one downside of the super-convenience of online rules databases: you might not notice which source you're reading from, and miss some very important context. :/

Of, course, as everyone knows, ninjas can't catch you if you're on fire.
