The Rise of an Evil Organization

Pathfinder Online

I've been following this project from almost day one and decided it's finally time to get involved in the community. So to that end, hello.

A lot of the chartered companies that have been started seem like fun, but I was surprised to see very few groups dedicated to evil. All I can find on the boards is a thread about that lack of such groups. I have awoken from my complacent slumber and decided to help change that.

What I want to do here, rather than making a pitch, is to extend my hand to anyone who wants to collaborate on a group dedicated to evil gods or evil as an ideal.

Such a group would be a haven for foul mages and anyone who wants to rape and pillage the nations of Galorion for the sport of it while lining their pockets with gold. A chartered company would be a great start: A group military in nature but self sustainable. The goal is to make a nation or city where the rivers flow pale with pus and the very land weeps with cancer.

Furthermore, I think an oligarchy structure would work. Firstly, a chaotic evil community seems like the kind where a single centralized leader would contradict the fluff of CE. Secondly, I am not recruiting minions but collaborators, and so I want to be able to share the spoils of the effort with anyone motivated enough to work on this.

Give war a chance.

Looks like GL has their first target.

When I think CE, I think of the Sith(Star Wars), the leader is the strongest, and everyone tries to kill you to take your position. And I really don't think of sharing and CE going hand in hand. I would expect every pillaging venture end with a internal fight for the spoils.

If you accept sharing to prevent conflict, you are taking the first step towards a lawful organization.

You don't have to tell me twice. The Great Legionnaires welcomes you to Golarion. We will be the ones escorting you to your graves.

((Welcome to PFO. I look forward to some fun fights in game but I hope we can keep our enmity out of the meta-game.))

The Sith order itself tends to be more neutral or even lawful. It's usually individual Sith who fall into really Chaotic. Really, I'd say Sith run the gauntlet of LE, NE and CE.

On the topic though, I think such a group would be welcome (OOC, less so in game haha).
Any names from such an organization?

Are you pitching this as a chartered company or more as a settlement/alliance idea?

Always awesome to get a warm welcome

I was thinking that an oligarchy could be cool for reasons of fluff. Perhaps we have five noble houses with their own armies instead of one. Each "house" could have it's own uniforms, different generals and different overall tactical niches. I'll spit some POTENTIAL ideas out there but am open to others.

one house could be a guild of assassins and guerilla warrior style pillagers.

Maybe another one is your typical coven of necromancers who fill the front line with with bats, locusts and squishy undead, with a heavy helping of tough-as nails dark warriors.

Another could be a group of crazed dwarven smiths, hammer wielding psychos and siege engine crafters/engineers.

The list of possibilities could go on, but the idea is that a city or group of cities led by evil squabbling nobles that compete for power but unite in their devotion to dark gods could be a TON of fun.

Also, in terms of scale we'll of course have to start as a chartered company but building a city (or even a nation) is the goal. I don't have a name yet, I'd like to start making concrete decisions once I find a collaborator(s)

Well I would like to say when we get in Pocket ace's members would like to grant the warmest welcome to evil groups. AFIK we are one of the few mercenary groups currently formed (The first file being another), that will offer our services to evil companies who need to defend or expand their empire.

The Seventh Veil, being Neutral, will also support Evil characters and companies. See Shadow-Haven.

We are not supporting Evil for the sake of Evil. Instead, we are (hopefully moreso than any other organization) dedicated to ensuring our members achieve their own goals, rather than setting goals for them.

it is going to be an interesting month of december as the evil guilds roll out into play. I wonder how ryan and the rest feel about lil goblin squad members forming an evil cult in their precious unsecure untouched virtual world. (rubs hands together with evil laughter) Mua Ha Ha Ha.. yes yes all coming together now. cue retro beatles song . All together now. All together now. In any event it is going to boil down into subsections wariors mages rangers LE NE CE. I figure most will be NE witch will allow general evil members to join but the agliment extreams will be interesting to whatch.

Go go team evil!

We should seriously think of opening an rp thread to introduce our preplanned characters. or at least a general outline of who they are. a criminal mastermind a freak scientist who escaped the loonyben for the third time a conisure of pain and debotchery. or maybe the reason you are so evil is you found out your father was a fairy. (I mean like a tree spirit or something) I think that would make any pre-pubesent half-orc go into a mental ward.

I think an evil character RP/planning thread would be an excellent idea. I'll start one tommarow if there isn't one already.

There is plenty of RP over in the Shadow-Haven thread. :)

Yes, yes- but that is shadow haven. We should almost certainly be allies, but these are two different groups, unless you're willing to do a merger.

I think the primary difference between this rising group and yours is that my group has an extreme emphasis on military prowess. We are the army of evil so to speak, the Spartans of death. Also, we are chaotic evil. This slight difference will actually be pretty significant. We're not the types to open up bars and provide entertainment. We're the types who rape and pillage your village- who troll the good aligned sections of the community for no good reason. We will provide gold to the murderers of paladins, for example.

Also, I suppose this thread is as good a place as any to discuss characters:

My character is Verrun Hanotep, a pale and fairly short elf with a mohawk. His interests are eclectic but mostly center around anatomy, architecture and engineering, military tactics, vermin and the undead. At the age of around one hundred, his village was brutally raided by a goblinoid invasion force. Seeking refuge from the slaughter, he made his way into a mosoleum that he knew contained access to a deep dungeon.

Hiding in that terrible hole, he found that he had been tracked and followed by a sizable group of hobgoblins. By the time the mosoleum door opened, the panicked elf had risen a small mob of corpses for the first time. Cornered and terrified but thrilled with the casting of his first true necromantic spell, Verrun kept his back against the wall and started shooting at the hobgoblins with his longbow.

The young warrior mage tapped into every last bit of his physical and magical energies in his struggle to survive. Finally, his corpses destroyed, Verrun clung to the back wall of the dungeon and waited for the barbarians to close in on him, at which point a flurry of poisoned daggers shot from the walls, cleverly placed as traps.

The last hobgoblin was kept alive. It is said that he survived Verrun's torture for eight days, at which point he was missing four limbs which were kept from bleeding due to generous applications of fire.

Since that day, Verrun exists only to cause pain onto others. His friends and family destroyed and his fragile, erratic psyche pulled to it's limits, Verrun lives a painful life now. He can only find joy in the suffering of the innocent. Tragically, Verrun is now little more than a psychological casualty of war and has become no less horrible than those who came for his people all those years ago.

In place of friends he has the zombies and skeletons that serve so faithfully, even in death. In place of family he has the vermin of the crypt, finding kinship in spiders and beetles. If Verun makes any sense to you, you're probably crazy.

We at Shadow-Haven pride ourselves on our neutral stance in political affairs. Shadow-Haven is primary a think-tank and service provider. We’re happy to meet the requirements of any settlement, nation or individual, but draw the line at actually assisting others in their efforts of conquest and domination. So in short we’re happy for the target to be squarely on your backs and will provide you whatever assistance you pay for. After all even armies of evil need a place to relax and unwind in between slaughtering good-aligned communities and hunting down paladins. I’m sure our two communities will have an mutually beneficial working relationship.

Shadow-Haven, working with communities for a better tomorrow.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Slaedrial Mythallar – Neutral Elvin Wizard / Cleric (Nethys) / Mystic Theurge

Slaedrial views himself as a scholar first and foremost and sees they study and advancement of magic as his primary goal in life. Dejected by his kins narrow-minded restrictive approach to the ‘forbidden’ arts, Slaedrial has sought out like-minded seekers of knowledge and established the Community of Shadow-Haven.

I want to be an evil bastard too. I still think this group needs a name though.

My character's name is Goran Harsk. He's a straight-up line holder fighter, nothing more. I can't wait to see the stalwart defender PrC incorporated into the game so I can go with some kind of "Shield of Evil" motif.

Goran was a front line warrior and catapult operator who was briefly enslaved in war. He doesn't like to talk about it but everyone who meets him gets the sense that it's why he's evil.

I love it. Hopefully we will be good friends in game.

Another sweet character concept. As for the name I plan on ratifying the thread later when the tequila hits my system.

I would like to contribute to this theorized guild. I offer Brom Karrak, a human barbarian with a lust for power and glory.

Your turn.

I'd love to see what kind of evil fella you could muster up.

Originally my own rp character was a drow and I explained his incredibly low con score by saying that exposure to sunlight from birth has taken it's toll heavily from his body also his racial spells but not spell resistance. It more or less evened him out. However sience I will be playing regular elf until drow or serpentfolk comes out I would like to write a opening for that so here it goes and fingers crossed.

Having little to no memory of anything but a piece of property to be bought and sold in the black market a child elf close to teens is sleeping in a cargo hold of a merchant ship. When he opens his eyes all he can see is a small scorpion one cage over staring at him. stupid bug is his only reply for he knows a wizard has bought him and who knows what a kind of wizard it is. what will he do? chop me up for parts, for some experiment? As it turns out the wizard simply needed a servent for minial chores and cleaning. Nights of reading spellbooks when his master sleeps was a great benefit. Unfortunitly the wizard blew himself up after experimenting with black powder trying to enhance his fireball spell. The young elf still barly thirty years is lost into the night. Weeks of begging food from travelers he learns not everyone is to be trusted and is tormented by bandits in ways that leave parts of his body scared. When finaly a dark rider on a pale horse tells him to go across a field and walk into a seemingly abandanded church Arlock finds people who take him in and feeds him cloth him and explains to him a benevolent Urgathoa. Years of tending graves and libraries growing into a young adult Arlock swears ageinst bandits smugglers and understands the bounderies of power seeing the mistakes of magic first hand. An equal interest in arcane and divine he seeks further secrets he can weild to bring lawbreakers to be his slaves in death.

Evil yes. does he have a right? maybe. Is this story too dark? not dark enough? be sure to message me for thoughts and the longer uncut version. I do write great stories when I both have the time and interest. This is probably 1/30 of full size and includes mature material nothing perverse but It does include blood, violence, and abuse. Even at his best as a Lich Arlock almost nerver suceeds in leading a church but I have had several stories involve him trying mostly loseing to daughters of Urgothoa. My favorite version is when I added a catfolk protaganist. female rouge/ranger.

Kastarr Eunson would likely bleed gold, if anyone could get close enough to cut him. Raised as the son of a small-time trader in Absalom, he soon learnt that morals only went as far as the next purse of coin. Using a little 'investment capital' from his old man, Kastarr quickly managed to grow his small fund thanks to a few lucrative yet unscrupulous deals.

Within twelve months he had quadrupled his initial pot of cash and began to diversify. Although he had started out in commodity trading, he spins became heavily embroiled in slave trafficking, smuggling and the acquisition of rare artefacts from places that he as not supposed to know about.

Three years ago, Kastarr found himself the subject of scrutiny following his meteoric rise to the top. He turned his back on Absalom and struck out for the River Kingdoms. It was there that he met an elf named Slaedrial Mythallar who had a vision of a settlement that would allow men like Kastarr to operate without impediment. Moving to the Kingdoms offered Kastarr access to prolific bandits as well as access to the courts of the various River Kingdoms.

Kastarr founded the Tilted Scales Conglomerate and set out to become the dominant economic and political force within the River Kingdoms.

If you were a part of this discussion I'd like to thank you.

I've now officially named the organization and given it it's own thread, and you should check us out. We're called The Leper Consortium.

I am glad to see the rise of evil. For what is a group of good guys if they don't have a foe?

I want to see the rise of evil... but even I have my limits.

News Flash:

It turns out Hanz McBattle is a notorious troll. And not the good kind- the kind we want in this organization.

I'll leave the details out of this but he's gone.
