Hey guys, I have a quick question for you all.
Say you have a level 20 monk, and he puts on a monks robe. There is a clear progression for the AC bonus, and an arguement could be made for the unarmed strike damage as well. RAW, would the monk gain these benefits? Or does it cap at level 20?
If he does gain these benefits, is there any indication of what would happen to his damage die when he goes large? I know that 2d10 goes to 4d8 when he gets large, but what if he goes huge? What does 4d8 go to? And more specifically, what die would he use if he was large/huge AND using a monks robe?

This kind of gets into houserule category because there really is no hard and fast rule for this. The game presumes that the class caps at lvl 20 and you need to extrapolate where it goes for hypothetical (or actual) levels above 20.
Standard medium monk progression is 1d6>1d8>1d10>2d6>2d8>2d10
This gives us totals ranging from:
1-6
1-8
1-10
2-12
2-16
2-20
If the next dice becomes 3d6, your range is 3-18 which kind of breaks the mold because the average actually drops by half a point. 4d6 would be the next natural dice in progression as it gives an average 3 higher than the previous. Or, you could do something as simple as going for 2d12 for a range of 2-24 and then drop back down but you'll encounter the same problem again. Going from 2d12 to either 3d8 or 4d6 will boost your average significantly less than previous.
Large progression is easy because it completely bypasses the d10 dice and sticks with nothing bud d6 and d8. It starts with simple alternation: 1d8>2d6>2d8>3d6>3d8... but then it just jumps straight to 4d8. In this case, you could say that it would make more sense to simply add another d8 and progress 5d8>6d8>7d8>etc. Using this concept, we could say that the medium progression could become as follows:
2d10>3d8>3d10>4d8>4d10>5d10>6d10>etc.
