And since you have at least 30 tables of GM credit, it might be time to sit down and read through the new guide that was released in August 2012.
There were a lot of changes, including the addition of a paragraph on Retraining.
Yes, I really need to read it. Gotta print it out first.

Don't give up on the gunslinger!
I don't think you gave it enough time, gunslingers have a little more of a curve with rules for fire arms with misfires and guns exploding (My Fri GM loves when I get the broken condition, he has had the pleasure of seeing one gun so far explode, I got a high five for that one) and ammo cost for the good stuff. Work the 20 ft range (pistol) and you will hit almost everything you come across by about level 3. At level 4 I have a +11 to hit touch. Add a Double barreled pistol 2 shots every round, even with a -4 its hard not to hit.

1st-Level Character Retraining
Pathfinder Society is all about player choices and living with those choices once you’ve made them. However, at the start of a Pathfinder’s career, you are allowed to adjust your character before settling in for the long haul. Before you level up a character for the first time, you may change any aspect of it except its Pathfinder Society Number. Changes may only be made between adventures and before beginning play as a 2nd-level character. Any exceptions will be noted in the Pathfinder Society FAQ. You are able to keep all treasure, Prestige Points, special boons, and XP that you have earned and apply them to a character once you retrain as long as it meets the criteria above.
So yes, you can simply *poof* it into a completely different character with 3 XP if you really don't want to play a Gunslinger.

I tell ya, these first-level retrain rules were a godsend for me. I had three different PCs whom I had abandoned (just "eating" the scenarios they had) at 3XP or less and were just sitting there collecting dust, because they turned out to be less fun than anticipated.
Thanks to the new retrain rules, I have three slots where I can start a "new" PC at 2nd level and not waste those credits. One of them has since become a 4th level cleric, and I have two more 2nd-level slots ready to go for once said cleric hits about 5th level or so.
Huzzah!

Thanks! Switched that gunslinger to a Nagaji (got the boon sheet!) Samurai. Funny thing though; a nagaji samurai with a horse as a mount? Hmm...

Consider Sword Saint archetype, so you give up the mount for something better for a medium PC in PFS, where wilderness is a rarity. After all, we are tomb raiders, not scouts...
